While taking a hot shower and enjoying the heat and steam, my mind drifted to last night’s adventure. The experience during the scenes was incredible, but something else stole the show. The kiss. It was the moment I would surely remember till the end of my life. A man like Sebastian Thorn, who could have any woman he wanted, who had everything in life, wanted to share it with me. He fell in love with me. I just couldn’t wrap my brain around it. It felt amazingyet so unbelievable.

With a stupid grin, I walked out of the shower. Standing in front of the grand mirror, my heart skipped a few beats. He left me a note on the mirror, but it was visible only when the room was full of steam.

Behave, princess??

I couldn’t stop the broad smile that settled on my face while reading his little message repeatedly. His two words could make me happy without him even being present. I heard him whispering them into my ear while my body quivered and my whole existence craved him.

I didn’t understand how I was able to live without him. My mind couldn’t comprehend why I was ever in relationships with men who didn’t respect me or didn’t value my efforts. Why couldn’t I find what I needed in life?

In a second, tears were brimming in my eyes when I thought of all those years I had listened to my mother about not being good enough. She started that nonsense when she told me I would never find a man who would love me. She crushed my dreams of a great relationship where my prince would cherish me. She broke my heart when I was only ten years old, and now, finally, I’ve realized she was very mistaken.

I was enough for a man like Mr. Thorn. He had a fantastic career, an impossible amount of money, great looks, and much more. He had a soft heart, which beat for me. He gave me his time and attention. He prioritized me above everything. He invited me into his life, giving me everything I wanted and didn’t even know I needed. If I was his first choice, I had nothing to worry about with anyone else.

I was enough.

Wiping my wet cheeks, I smiled in the mirror and left the bathroom. As I put on casual clothes, the party, which would start at seven, began haunting me.

I was anxious about the upcoming event. I wasn’t sure if I should be there as Mr. Thorn’s assistant or his official plus one. I already got a few emails from the press because my name was written next to his on the guest list, but I ignored them. However, thinking about it, I was confused. I didn’t know where I stood.

Just when I was about to call Mr. Thorn because his regular meeting with one of the shareholders should be over, my eyes landed on the pink note and blue file on the coffee table. I plopped on the sofa, taking the soft paper and reading.

Princess,

This is the draft of our contract without an expiration date because our current agreement will end in a few days. Please read it, make notes, add whatever you think should be there, and leave it in my office. We’ll have another round of negotiations soon.

A small smile crept on my lips when I opened the file, but it was interrupted by the ring of an elevator in the foyer. Rushing into the hall, I walked from behind the corner to see a woman, about fifty years old, in a long red dress with perfect makeup and black hair in a stylish updo. She raised her eyebrows at me expectantly and frowned.

“Bastian sent me to help some girl named Electra prepare for the party,” she announced in a neutral tone, eyeing me up and down.

“I’m Electra,” I said, returning the look when she shot me a surprised glance.

“Great, we can start right away.” She clapped her hands, motioning for me to follow her. “You must be perfect tonight.”

I took a deep breath, and my heart went wild. Obviously, I wasn’t going to the party as an assistant.

Before the Party

Electra

Ispent the whole afternoon with Maggie and her team, preparing for the event of the month. I called Zoe, my best friend, to come and join me because we should meet for coffee, but she replied saying she was busy.

I understood she was working on a big case, essential to her career, but I missed her. Mr. Thorn allowed me to tell her about our relationship; not every detail, but enough for me to talk with her about my new life, yet she was always preoccupied with her job. I called my dad, at least, to check up on him. He was enjoying the mountains and decided to stay there for another week.

It was six o'clock when my makeup and hair were finally finished, and Maggie closed the zip on my dress. I was staring in awe at my reflection in the mirror, not believing my own eyes.

I wore a sparkling, slightly transparent dress. It was only a little darker on my breasts, so my nipples weren't visible, but I couldn't have a bra thanks to the extremely deep neckline. My legs were exposed because the front was short and the back was floor length. My thighs looked thinner—obviously, thanks to the high heels—and my cleavage was covered with sparkles and was so full I couldn't take my eyes off it. My curvy ass was in huge contrast with my thin waist, and I foundmyself wondering, how the hell did this dress do it? I didn't wear special underwear; it was impossible to have anything under such a revealing gown, yet I had to say, the effect was terrific.

The light touch of makeup on my face underlined my natural features, and the smokey eye shadows made my hazel eyes glow. My platinum long hair fell freely on my back in big waves, finishing the effect of the princess look.

“Satisfied?” I heard Maggie ask. She stood at the door, letting me enjoy the moment. I didn’t know what to say. Satisfied? This was pure magic. Who wouldn’t be okay with it? Yet, I quickly realized she wasn't questioning me. I was so lost in staring at myself that I didn't notice Bastian leaning against the bookshelf, looking at me like a hungry wolf. I instantly felt the effect of his heated stare between my legs.

"Words can't describe how beautiful you are, princess," he said when I turned around to face him. From the corner of my eye, I saw Maggie leaving the room.

"It's your money transformed into the perfect outfit," I replied, watching him push himself off the shelf, taking slow steps towards me.
