This performance was going to be like nothing they had ever done before.

“We’ve missed you!” Jaewoong shouted.

Su-jin pumped his fist in the air.

“Be good, now,” Yohei said, in his lowest voice.

“Or not,” Geun chuckled.

The noise from the crowd doubled.

They are ours, for this moment. Tears sprang to Jun’s eyes. He swallowed and pumped his fist in the air, starting to move with the music as the rhythm kicked up a notch.

Hail, my demons

Are you not entertained?

As I strut, and I dance, and I sing on this stage

Hail, grand sinners

Are you not deeply pleased?

That for you I exist to appease

Your appetite

Your twisted delights

Your greed beyond need

Your avarice

Power pumped through Jun’s belly, up into his throat, down his arms and his legs. The choreography was easy. No more starving before an appearance. No last minute lectures from Bak in his head. Only rage and joy, rising like two dragons inside him, inside of all of them.

Su-jin took the front with Jaewoong, swapping lines while Jun danced behind them with Geun and Yohei using their relative height advantage.

Shall we all have a party?

A grandslam soirée

Let’s swan about under patterned lights

Like our hearts are all cut from damaged blocks of ice

Yohei and Geun swapped places with Su-jin and Jaewoong, tossing the lyrics between them like a tennis match.

Your appetite, I swear

Has no end from all I hear

Ego in motion

Your worst diabolic emotion

Open jaws, gimme hands

Tell the band to leave the stands
