And money changes hands

Damian tugged on the tag in Jun’s ear. “I got you. You were amazing.”

“I was an ass. I threatened to…I went off script.”

“Considering what you’ve done before, you could back that up.”

“You don’t think…” Jun pushed away. “You didn’t believe…”

Damian gripped Jun’s upper arms, holding him in place. “I believe you would do what you had to, to protect those you are meant to protect. And that’s what you did tonight.”

Jun let out a ragged breath. “I hate that I could say that. I hate I could go that far, that I could make it real. Because when I said it…I believed it. I won’t let them. They don’t get to touch us.”

“No, they don’t.” Damian’s hands squeezed harder into Jun’s arms, pinning him in place. “You were brilliant. The money, the bargaining. You put him off the game he expected, made him listen.”

“Gods, I hope it’s enough.” Jun crumpled against Damian. Damian’s hands went into his hair, tugging and gripping it. Jun jerked his head, just to feel the pull, and Damian tightened his grip.

“I got you, wolfling. I got you.”

“Bite me.”

Damian groaned, sounding like he might think better of it, and almost like he wanted to do more. But then he shifted his head and nuzzled at Jun’s neck. Jun tilted his head, offering up his bare arch. Damian bit, hard, and deep, and sucked on the skin. Jun shuddered, knees going weak, but Damian’s arms were there, holding him up, keeping him close.

“Uh, should we come back later?” Su-jin’s voice rang out in the cavernous space.

“N-no.” Jun lifted his head, spaced out and lax.

“Come in,” Damian said. He pressed a kiss against what was going to be a bruise at the juncture of Jun’s neck and shoulder. Still holding Jun, he turned.

The other four were there, followed by Mi Hi and Émeric. Security shut the door.

“Richard is seeing the mayor off,” Émeric said. “Ellisandre said they had business.”

“I think I know what that is.” Jun blinked back the spacey feeling that Damian’s dominance had brought out in him and stood a little more steadily on his feet. “Where’s Collin?”

“With May and Holden, and Armada. They’re seeing to getting everything down.”

“Everyone should get seats,” Jun said. He tried to step away from Damian, but Damian didn’t let go. Instead, he pulled Jun back and sat, hauling Jun into sitting sideways across his legs. It left Jun facing the rest of 5N, but still in Damian’s arms.

Jun gave Damian a pointed look. They’d never been this obvious in front of the others.

“You have a safeword,” Damian growled.

Émeric smiled fondly.

Jun huffed. “Yohei, Geun, Jaewoong, Su-jin, meet Damian, protective, grumpy dom. He has his reasons. And it’s time to tell you.”

“Dom?” Su-jin said. “You mean like BDSM, whips and chains dom?”

“What have you been looking at on the internet?” Geun asked.

Su-jin flushed.

Jun clapped his hands. “Yes, that kind of dom. You might as well know. When you all annoy me too much, this guy puts me over his knee and lets me cry about it. Questions?”

Su-jin raised his hand. Jun quirked an eyebrow. But Su-jin wasn’t intimidated, at least not sufficiently. “So that’s where the bruises and the bite marks are coming from?”

Jun groaned. “Yes.”
