I’m going to post a response. I’m not sure exactly what it will say, but I think it’s time. I think I’ll feel lighter, and like I told Quinn, it’s what you deserve. Not to be tucked away as a secret, which I see now was for selfish reasons, but honored and remembered.

I love you, bud.

Seek & Speak!

What’s the Truth Anyway?

Dig to Decide!

Do you ever wonder about the unknowns?About truths? About lies?

Do you ever hear something and instinctively agree with it?

Disagree with it?

Do you ever defend the narrative? Question the narrative?

Do you like to share your opinions? Hear the opinions of others?

If so, then this is the place for you!

@meh I can appreciate your curiosity and your desire to know the truth. After all, that’s why we all log on as often as we do. While I do not agree that this forum is the place to have this conversation, I will answer your question in an effort to avoid further drama through whatever rumor mill that may have sprung to life. With that being said, I also want to respect our Seek & Speak space here, so after this post, I will not use this forum to continue this conversation any further.

My given name is Declan Williams. After my younger brother, Geoffrey, was kidnapped from an amusement park over spring break of my sixth-grade year, I struggled in every way imaginable. My parents thought it was best that I start fresh in a new town and with new people, so that’s when we moved here. I took the opportunity to choose a new name, Maverick, because hearing the name my brother called me was too painful. I compartmentalized my pain and sorrow so that school could be an escape, not that it ever really was.

I stopped going by the name Declan when I was a kid. Maverick never really took, and my nickname, Quick, came about in junior high. Here we are six years later. Now that I’m almost 18 and better equipped to deal with the loss of my brother, please, feel free to call me Declan.
