“Fuck,” I said, lost in the feel of her warm mouth surrounding me. “No, tonight you’re mine.” When she released, I wrestled her down below me again and spread her thighs with my knees, watching her face glow under my touch.
She gave my cock one slow stroke by her entrance as I hesitated, overcome with anticipation. But the moment her eyes grew wide under me will be frozen in my memory forever. We claimed each other, her slick walls gripping so tight around my tip I made myself stop, wait, pull back.
“More,” she said, begging. I hungered for her, gripping her hips as I pressed forward, deeper. Again—halfway and already too much—I retreated, feeling her tense in surprise, wondering if I hurt her.
“Jesse.” She said my name through clenched teeth, gripping my ass and pulling me down to the hilt, surrounding me with her heat. Her hand flew up to my face as we both cried out. She’d wanted all of me, taken all of me, and it meant so much that she did. I lost myself in those beautiful, miraculous eyes, her little smile.
I kissed her as I pulled out, and she held onto me so tight. Another slow thrust, and I needed her face to mine just as I needed all of her around me, joining me. We found a slow rhythm, and I watched the pleasure build with every perfect fit. She wrapped her legs around me, her fingers gripping my ass as she welcomed each stroke.
The way she moved with grace and power had always made everything inside me stand taller. But this hunger, her uncertainty—she’d let me close enough to see this. I would drive that fear away—all her self-hate. I would fill her with all the pleasure, be her hope—all the—voids. My mind blurred, and I don’t know what came out of my mouth as I gave my body and soul to her, riding the edge of our wave before falling to the point of no return.
“Far, come with me,” I said, between short, sharp breaths as I started a steady rhythm, my hips snapping with all my force.
She gripped me, pulling me deeper, deeper. “Wait for me,” she rasped out. “Please.”
I slowed, but hit harder, kissing as she thrust up at me. My tongue danced with hers, and she fought back hard, claiming my mouth, gripping me from within, driving me so close. I reached between our bodies, claiming a breast, drawing my hand along her heart, then lower. Her mouth opened in a silent scream as I found her clit, kissing her through a thrust. I felt her walls grip me so tight. I couldn’t hold back.
“Jesse—”
“Yield.”
She broke apart under me as we came together. The muscles in my back strained as I spilled every last thought into her with one last pounding thrust. She clenched around me, pulling me in to join her.
Far held me tight and did not let go as I collapsed, helpless into her arms.
“Jesse.” She stroked my hair where I lay lost over her fluttering heart.
Her heart pounded a steady rhythm in my ear, while the locks on all my promises came loose. “I’m here. I’ll always be here.” The truth, and yet not all of it as her body gripped me in her aftershocks. She came again in my arms just from those words, her eyes crescents of pleasure as I stroked her face.
I couldn’t move, couldn’t break the spell where I was just a man, lost in happiness, and she...
She—Faruhar, the Red Demon, was the one I wanted, and I wanted her in a way I never thought I’d want anyone. I would never have enough, and she would always be enough. I would give my last breath for her happiness. That revelation, bright and unafraid of the winter dark, chased away every fear, leaving only the joy of her. She was happy; I’d made her happy.
With a laugh, I kissed her again, my head spinning. She smiled into me, tracing my back with her fingers, in the cool wind.
“You’re everything to me, everything,” she said, forehead into mine. I watched her eyes light up like twin suns, a proud smile on her lips. “No matter what happens, remember that.”
“Put that in the journal just in case,” I said.
“I—I won’t need to.”
My thoughts were stormy seas. I watched her smile ebb as I faltered—surrendering to the waves. Her eyes grew more full and uncertain as I fought my way up for air.
“Far, I love you,” I said, using the Asri word—the one that means forever.
Chapter 48
Surrender
After leaving the cold forest behind, we knew we needed to rest in that warm and inviting room, to recharge and focus on defeating Mahakal. We also knew this time was finite. This might be the only chance I had to love her like this, before I joined the void with no regrets. We didn’t sleep much that night. Sunlight, pale and tentative, fought its way through the curtains. I stirred, my muscles sore with welcome satisfaction. Faruhar nestled beside me. I brushed the hair from her face, expecting her eyes to flutter open with the usual fog—but she met me with startling clarity. A slow smile warmed the space between our faces.
“Faruhar, you’re safe—”
She cut me off with a kiss, pulling back with eyes ignited. “I know.”
She reached for my hand on her cheek. I let out a soft sigh as she kissed my hand, trailing the other over my fluttering heart.
“Everything is clear.”
