“Alright…” Rory called out, “Now that everyone is here, we have an announcement – well, two actually.”
“Dimitra has an announcement as well.” Sarifena stuck her tongue out at her.
Christine grinned, “Really… do tell.”
“Yes, why don’t you go first,” she looked at Anthony, “Ours might be a bit shocking.”
“Jason asked me to marry him, I said yes.” She cut her eyes at Sarifena. She didn’t even know about the engagement, so her attempt to call her out didn’t work.
“And…” Sarifena waved her hand.
“And…” Dimitra glanced at Jason, “We’re expecting.”
“Oh, my God!” Onika jumped up, “We are too!”
“Holy shit… five of the Queens are expecting?” Drake laughed from his seated position.
“Actually…” Rory blushed, “Six.”
“WHAT??” Sarifena screamed as she turned to her husband, “YOU DIDN’T TELL US!”
“He didn’t know.” Christine spoke, “I saw one of the other doctors today.”
“Wait…” Amalee smiled, “You’re expecting? Not Rory?”
“Yep. This time it’s me.”
Everyone erupted into cheers as the Queens moved around to hug each other. The castle was going to be bursting with the next generation of royalty. As Emersyn headed back to her seat with Drake, she squealed.
“What the hell?” she glanced down at the triplets. Andre and Allison were watching their brother with amusement. Adam was staring up at Emersyn with a crooked grin. The hand he’d reached out and touched Emersyn with was covered in an amber glow.
“That…” Rory moved to pick him up, “Is the other thing.”
“It seems our children possess magic already.”
“Excuse me?” Onika peered down at the toddlers, “First of all, they're babies. But most importantly, he is a boy. No male has ever possessed elemental magic.”
“Well, he does,” Emersyn rubbed the tender flesh.
“Do all three have your magic?” Heath walked toward them, “Why didn’t you tell me?”
“Until last night, we had no clue. And yes… they all possess magic.”
“Your magic,” Amalee cocked an eyebrow.
“That’s the thing,” Rory smiled, “Adam is the only one who appears to have my fire. Andre seems to have Sarifena’s magic, and Allyson,” Rory sighed.
“Has mine.” Emersyn nodded. “It has to be from saving you. When Sarifena and Onika helped me by using magic to save you – somehow, we must have infused portions of it into them.”
“If that’s true, why didn’t Onika’s magic affect one of them?” Sarifena asked.
“It did,” Anthony picked up his daughter, “Allison has Emersyn and Onika’s magic.”
“Holy shit.”
The room was silent as everyone digested the news.
“Do you realize what this means?” Luca paced the room, “A new dawn of ruler is emerging. Any of the children can replace you if they hold magic in their souls. One of the boys can sit on the council.”
