Chapter 17: Carly
We pulled into the local Pizzeria and piled out of Jensen’s truck. Walking across the parking lot, I couldn’t shake the feeling of being watched. I glanced around, scanning the parking lot I didn’t see anything out of the ordinary.
“What’s up babe?” Paul tugged me towards him.
“Nothing – just felt like we were being watched. I guess I’m just delirious from hunger.”
“Well, let me feed you.”
We were immediately greeted by the hostess, who led us to a table near the back. The waitress took our drink order and disappeared.
“So – Dylan, you ready to be Jensen’s wife? Think you can handle this big nut?”
“Yeah – how about you Paul, think you could be tied down in holy matrimony?”
The blush crept up my neck as he took my hand in his, “Yeah – I’m pretty sure I could.”
The waitress arrived just in time, setting down our food I scooted my chair back, “Excuse me a minute, I need the ladies room.”
“You want me to come?” Dylan started to stand.
“Nah – you keep watch on these fine men of ours. Wouldn’t want to kill anyone.” Winking I walked off towards the back.
I walked down the narrow hallway towards the ladies room when I was grabbed from behind.
“Carly.”
“What the fuck,” wrenching myself from his hold, “Dan – what the hell are you doing?”
“I can smell it all over you. You fucked him, didn’t you?”
Without thinking I slapped him, “Who do you think you are? That is none of your business. Now get the hell out of my way." I moved to walk around him, but he grabbed my arm.
“Ow – you’re hurting me. Let go…”
“You were supposed to be mine, but I can smell him all over you.”
“Let. Me. Go.” I kicked my foot out, catching him square between the legs, “I was never meant to be yours.”
He grunted, falling to his knees in front of me. Turning I ran down the hallway, running smack dab into a wall of muscles.
“Let me go!”
“Carly…” Paul grabbed me, “Baby it’s me. What the hell happened?”
He held me close, “It was Dan… he grabbed me. I… I kicked him in the balls. He’s down there.” I pointed down the dark hallway.
Paul spun me, handing me off to Jensen who was behind him. “Watch her.”
Before I could protest, Paul was storming off down the dark hallway. Turning to Dylan, “Dylan, stop him – he’ll kill him.”
Dylan moved passed Jensen, down the hall after Paul. They were only gone a minute, before returning to where Jensen and I stood.
“He’s gone.”
“What? How?” I stood staring at the now empty dark hallway.
“Through the kitchen I suspect. Carly, what did he say?”
