Chapter Nineteen

Ry gingerly walked out of the elevator to meet Vivi and Ellie for breakfast. They’d texted earlier and said they deserved an update. She hoped they had plenty of cold cola and food because she burned a lot of calories last night.

Not having any sex and then making love four times last night had her so sore that she’d already downed ibuprofen, and if she could have laid in bed with a cold pack on her poor vagina, she would have. She hadn’t realized a man couldactually get it up that many times, but Crewe had been voracious.

She’d experienced shower sex for the first time, which had been amazing. Crewe’s arms flexing to hold her up while he powered into her had been, hands down, one of those bucket list moments.

Vivi and Ellie waved at her from the table, and Ry headed that way but stopped at Rose, who was sitting by herself with a strange look on her face. It could be sadness, but Ry wasn’t going to let her wallow alone. What was one more person listening to her adventure?

“Hey, Rose, I’m meeting Vivi and Ellie for breakfast. I’d love it if you joined us,” Ry said.

Rose sighed and nodded, getting up to follow her. Well, that had been easier than she’d thought. She joined the girls, sitting down at the table while Rose sat down.

“Well, you limped in here looking a little sore there. Did you get rode a little hard last night?” Vivi asked.

“Vivi,” Ellie scolded.

Ry chuckled because both women were known for speaking their minds. Rose sat quietly.

“Even though you’re teasing me, I’m going to thank you for the one-bed hotel room. Crewe and I are now a couple, but yes, if I could lay in bed all day with ice on my vagina, it would be good,” Ry said, her friends chuckling and high-fiving each other.

“You are welcome. Was he book boyfriend material?” Ellie asked.

Ry nodded and took a sip of the cola that the girls had ready and waiting for her.

“I didn’t know that men really could go four times a night. We did the bed, the shower, and then the man enjoyed his dessert, as he said, and made me come with his mouth four times before he’d come inside me,” Ry said, pausing as the waitress took their order.

“Okay, that’s three, and I need details,” Vivi said.

Ry grinned, “He woke me at four in the morning because he needed me again. Holy Smokies, his hot breath on my neck, his hands playing withmy breasts as he slid in from behind was—oh my gosh, I can’t believe this is my life. And for the record, I’ve never shared with girlfriends, but I’ve never been so loved in my life.”

Vivi reached over and clasped her hand. “We’re not just friends. We’re sisters. I’m so happy that man finally quit mooning and made a move.”

Their food was delivered. Ry inhaled the food. She’d burned a lot of calories and was starving.

“Rose, you’ve been quiet after the hot biker President carried you away last night. We’re good listeners if you need to vent or process. If he was a jerk, it would take some planning with how connected he is in the town, but I think I could still make him pay,” Ellie said while calmly taking a sip of her coffee.

Ry stared at her friend. She knew Ellie had been an FBI agent before coming to work for the bail bonds but hadn’t seen that side of Ellie before.

“It was…” Rose paused, took a drink, glanced around the room, and leaned closer, “completely wonderful and aggravating at the same time. I honestly don’t know what to do.”

“Do you want to talk about it?” Ellie asked. Ry really hoped she did because she was invested. What could possibly make it wonderful and aggravating at the same time?

“I don’t know. I think I need to process a little more. I’m pretty sure it’s going to get a lot more complicated,” Rose replied.

“Why is that?” Ry questioned.

“Beth and Remi have talked with the MC here about us having an office here possibly, and if so, I’d probably be the one staffing it. Since Tasha left to go overseas and work for an NGO, it’s just not the same in Bluff Creek. I love the people, but I think I might need a fresh start. Of course, Scoop, big brother that he is, was all,But what about your nephew, Noah, how can you leave him?” Rose said, rolling her eyes.

Ry assumed it had been a hard transition because, from what she understood, Rose and her twin had always lived together since high school.

“But enough about me. Vivi, what all is on the itinerary today for you all?” Rose asked.

“This morning is the chocolate-making in a couple hours and then some free time, but then Peck texted that the kids want a return to the arcade and raceway before going to Justice and Adley’s wedding. I can’t believe how fast the week is going. It could be because Whiskey and I have had alone time at night. I’m a little ashamed to admit that although we made love last night—the first night, we just slept. We’d both been running on fumes, and having a full night’s sleep was bliss. Though he was quite appreciative of the Christmas-themed bra and underwear,” Vivi said, chuckling.

“I was excited for the free time. I brought my camera down and was going to walk around the town. I thought I’d get some shots of the buildings. One of the resort workers suggested I take the path past the parking lot to walk down to Main Street. He said there were ducks, some geese, and other animals that stayed around a pond I’d passed. I’d love to get some nature shots today. Crewe mentioned he and a couple of the guys were going to take a ride up the mountain. Any ofyou are welcome to come on my walk if you like,” Ry said.

“Thank you, but I will be staying here. I scheduled a manicure and a massage this morning before the arcade. I’m so excited,” Vivi said.
