“But Lake needs him now.” She whispers, and Blade sighs.
“I know,” he mutters before I feel movement against my body, a weight I recognize well pressing into me, sending electric shocks throughout my body.
Lake.
“At least she’s sleeping,” Blade says.
“It’s the only time she will, when she’s lying next to him,” I hear Luna sniffle as a comfortable weight settles on my chest.
“He needs to wake up,” Luna chokes, and the need to wake builds.
“He will, the doctors are optimistic,” Blade murmurs, and everything fades.
“Lake, sweetheart, Dr. Cal is here,” I hear Randy say before I feel movement next to me, and I hear a sweet whisper, “Okay…”
My shorty.
“How are you feeling today, Lake?” I hear and I will myself to wake up.
The fucker sounds young and pompous.
My girl returns, “I need him to wake up.”
“Have you thought about hurting yourself again?” he asks, ignoring her words, which just fucking pisses me off, before fear hits me as she admits, “Yes,” timidly.
Okay, body, comply, wake me up, come on.
“You’re pregnant, Lake, you need to think about your daughter right now, not Viper. You’re becoming selfish.”
Okay, the fucker is dead, he is fucking dead!
He’s trying to guilt-trip her instead of trying to soothe her and hear her concerns, her fears.
“Have you ever been in love, doctor?” I hear my girl ask, and a throat clears before the guy admits, “No, I haven’t.”
“Then don’t come in here and make me feel bad. Like I’m a bad mother, making the itch to cut worse because I’m struggling with the fact that the love of my life nearly died,” she snaps.
That’s my fucking girl!
“I gave him CPR, I had his blood on my hands, so how dare you come in here and try and guilt trip me!” she snaps, “Now get out!”
“But-but, you relapsed,” the tool stutters, and she shouts, “I know I did, now get out!”
“What on earth is going on?” I hear Randy snap, and Lake replies, “This jackass just tried guilt tripping me for wanting to cut, then called me selfish. Get him out, Daddy, and call the person Dr. Gren suggested!”
I hear a growl before pleas hit my ears, then tears hit my skin.
Fuck, she needs me…
“Please don’t leave me, Jaylen,” I hear her choke, and everything fades once again...
“She still asleep?” I hear.
Alright, this shit is getting boring now.
“Yes, thankfully,” Randy replies to Psycho.
“Good, I’ve reported that doctor,” Psycho confirms, and Randy grunts, “Good, I was ready to kill him,” before it’s quiet again, the beeping echoing in my ears.
