“It would be exciting! I think it’d be a good gig for a pack. You guys could smell the storm coming.”
“I think they have machines for that.”
“Pfft. Muggles. But, yeah, maybeyouwouldn’t be so good at that.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
“Remember the time you thought there was a thunderstorm coming, and it turned out the microwave was broken?” Kaiyo laughed. Ahmik scowled, but a smile twitched at his mouth.
“I was like eight.”
“You were twelve.”
“Ten.”
“This isn’t a negotiation. You were twelve.”
“Whatever, that’s still young!”
“Whatever yourself. At least you can run. I would obviously be the brains of the operation.”
“Actually, I think Thea would be the brains. She’s the best with computers.”
“Yeah, okay.”
“You can be the pretty face,” Ahmik smirked. Kaiyo fluttered his eyelashes, making a kissy face at Ahmik.
“You just want me for my body, huh?” Kaiyo drawled. Ahmik blushed. Kaiyo cackled.
“I take it back. You’d be the cow that gets sucked into the tornado.”
Kaiyo gasped dramatically. “As if you wouldn’t come running after me.”
“Maybe, but I’d let you spin around a few times.”
“Those are some weird kinks you’ve got there, man,” Kaiyo replied, making Ahmik blush again. “Wow, you sure are an easy target today.”
“Shut up and eat your burger.”
“Yes, master.”
“Oh my God.”
Kaiyo had slipped his hand into Ahmik’s on their way back to the car, making him twitch.
“Okay,” Kaiyo had said, exasperated. “What is with you today?”
“What?” Ahmik replied defensively.
“You’re being weird.”
“How am I being weird?”
“You’re being weird.”
“How?”
“You’re all…weird.”
