“You’re not stupid for being upset. Change is hard, even when it’s a good thing. It’s okay to be happy that Taylor has other people in his corner and sad that he didn’t reach out to you. Can I ask why he didn’t?”

Colby turned his head and gave Milo a soft smile. “Because I was with you and he didn’t want to drag me away.”

“He’s sweet. And he’s allowed to look out for you too. Love isn’t a one-way street.”

Colby sighed. “So you’ll let me change my shifts around so I can work more nights and spend more time with you?”

Milo narrowed his gaze. “I see what you did there.” He pretended to sigh. “I guess I could allow you to.”

“How generous of you.”

“I’ll come work out with you this morning. I can always come home and sleep again before my shift starts. Plus, I want to make a stop on the way back.”

“I won’t say no to some company this morning.”

If Colby was curious about his errand, he didn’t ask, which made Milo want to tell him even more. Neville would have zeroed in on that right away, poking and prodding until Milo revealed his plans. Then he’d have promptly shit all over them. But that wasn’t Colby. Not at all.

“Speaking of change…” Milo took a deep breath before continuing. “I’m going to volunteer at the shelter. I want to help people the way I helped Taylor. Seeing how happy it made him, how much confidence he had, I think it healed something in me that I didn’t realize was broken.”

“Oh, Milo.” Colby crashed his mouth against Milo’s, kissing him hard and deep. He pulled away just as suddenly, his eyesswimming with a million emotions Milo couldn’t name, but all of them looked like love. “You’re the best person I know.”

Milo didn’t know what to say to that, so he pressed his mouth against Colby’s and kissed him thoroughly, letting all his happiness bubble up and spill out. He pulled away.

“One more thing,” Milo said, feeling braver by the minute. He’d known when he met Colby that he was different and each step along the way had only proven him right. But there was still that element of fear. That hesitation that lived in Milo’s heart. The little voice in the back of his head that sounded like Neville, sneering and mean and unaccepting, and Milo hated himself for listening to it.

“Anything.” Colby said. And he meant it. Milo could tell from the way his eyes were soft and the earnest tone in his voice.

“I want to do drag again. I don’t know if it’ll be something I do all the time, or if it’s a thing I need to do once more just to say I did it.”

“Whether it’s one time or one hundred times, or every day for the rest of your life, I want you to do the things that make you happy.” Colby cupped Milo’s cheek and leaned in, so unbearably close. Kissably close. “You’re gorgeous when you’re happy.”

“You don’t mind?” Milo wanted to snatch the words back and shove them down into the pit of his stomach, never to see the light of day again.

“Having met your ex, albeit briefly, I can understand why you’d ask that. And if you need to ask it every time, I don’t mind telling you over and over that the thing that makes me happiest is your happiness. I’d never ask you not to do something that was so important to you.” Colby frowned. “Unless murder suddenly became important to you.”

The absolute absurdity of Colby’s comment made Milo snort. “I think it’s safe to assume that murder isn’t a hobby I’ll ever be interested in.” He dragged his hand down Colby’s body, letting his blunt nails rake trails down his skin. Colby’s breathing hitched and he moaned when Milo wrapped a hand around his cock and gave it a squeeze.

“Is that your new hobby?” Colby asked, humor dancing in his eyes.

“It could be. It does make me happy.”

Colby gave him a cocky grin and watched him with fiery eyes as he shimmied down the bed.

“I know you have to get to work soon, so I’ll make it fast.” Milo set off with a determination to blow Colby’s mind. He made quick work of his descent, mapping a trail down Colby’s bare chest with his mouth.

There was nothing better than watching Colby come apart. Nothing sweeter than the knowledge that out of all the men on the planet, it had been Milo who caught his eye. He had no right to feel half as triumphant as he did, but he hid a smile against Colby’s stomach.

Lower and lower he went, savoring every touch. Every gasp. Every little twitch of Colby’s muscles. They didn’t have much time before Colby had to leave for work, so once Milo reached Colby’s cock, he wasted no time. Taking him in his mouth, he swirled his tongue over the head, teasing the slit before taking him down to the root.

Colby cried out and thrust into Milo’s mouth, his hand going to Milo’s hair. Holding. Not forcing. Touching. Caressing. Shivers danced down Milo’s spine and he cupped Colby’s balls, giving them a gentle tug.

Colby let out an undignified squeak and Milo pulled off to laugh. He looked up at Colby, whose face resembled that of a very ripe tomato.

“Sorry. You surprised me is all. Continue.”

Milo pressed a kiss against the crease of Colby’s leg, that sexy, sensitive hollow of flesh that was softer than it had anyright to be. Then he licked a trail up the underside of Colby’s dick before taking it down to the root again.

It wasn’t long before Colby’s entire body trembled. The sound of his ragged breaths spurred Milo on, making him work his tongue faster, suck Colby deeper.
