Fuck. Why was he suddenly nervous?

Sure, Colby was good-looking. And fit. And kind. And sincere. And he cared about the people around him. But that was a pretty low fucking bar, if Milo thought about it. It spoke volumes about the state of his last relationship that anyone passing the basic human decency test was appealing.

As soon as Milo thought those things, he dismissed them. Colby was a decent person, but that wasn’t why Milo was interested in him. Well, it wasn’t the only reason. He liked the way Colby gave him all his attention when they were together. He liked the way Colby looked at him like he was special, and when was the last time he’d felt like that? Probably the twelfth of never.

Milo wanted to be special. Who didn’t?

Milo texted Colby back.

I did too

Milo dropped the phone back onto his chest and tried to ignore the way his cock throbbed just from thinking of Colby. Leaving had seemed like a good idea at the time, but he was probably going to have to jerk off before bed if he kept it up.

Or maybe he wouldn’t. Maybe he’d let the anticipation build. His phone vibrated and he took a deep breath before reading Colby’s next text.

When can I see you again?

Milo bit his lip. He wanted that. Even if it was casual. Even if it was temporary.

Before he could second-guess himself, he sent Colby a list of his shifts, but he also promised to make it to the gym for a workout, earning him a string of happy face emojis.

Part of him still regretted leaving the comfort and warmth of Colby’s bed, but another part of him was equally glad he had. His brain said keep it casual, but the butterflies in his stomach had other ideas.

See you soon, Milo xx

Milo tried and failed not to smile at his phone.

He was so fucked.

CHAPTER 15

COLBY

Colby wasn’t miraculouslya different person now that he’d been with a man. There was no magical movie montage-esque transformation. Fundamentally, he was the same person he was before. Maybe alittlehornier.

Definitely hornier.

He couldn’t go ten minutes without thinking of Milo and how gorgeous he looked. How he felt. What it had been like to kiss him, to be close to him. He poked around his head searching for regrets and didn’t find any.

Sure, he might’ve realized he wasn’t straight sooner. He might’ve had more experience with the same sex by now, but his lack thereof didn’t seem to bother Milo. With two brothers who were both gay, it was hardly something worth worrying about his family accepting. That didn’t mean he had the first idea how to tell them. He suspected Taylor had figured it out. Maybe it had been obvious to everyone except for him.

Colby’s only worry was that if things went south with him and Milo, that his burgeoning friendship with Taylor might suffer, but Taylor was an adult now and he was more than capable of fighting his own battles. Besides, Colby was an adult too. He could absolutely support his brother being friends withsomeone he used to date. It wasn’t middle school where you demanded blind loyalty from your friends.

As if on cue, his phone buzzed on his nightstand. Colby rolled over and grabbed it to answer a call from Taylor.

“Did my car make it back in one piece?”

“Yes, duh. I sort of need one more favor.”

Colby was already swinging his legs over the side of the bed and getting up. “What do you need?”

Colby didn’t have to work until later, so whatever Taylor needed, he hoped he needed it sooner rather than later.

“I need you to come to work with me.”

Colby looked at the time. “I didn’t realize it was so early. Where are you?”

“Downstairs in your parking space. Please, Colby. I need someone with me who already knows.”
