Emilia falls backward onto the bed. Thank goodness we’re sitting in a tight enough circle that she has the space. “Haden…” she repeats in a dreamy voice.
“I guess you know him?” Reagan asks.
“Oh, I know him.” Emilia pushes back to sitting. “Tall, dark, and handsome is what he is. I mean, really tall. He’s like six-four. Deep brown eyes. Clean-cut brown hair and always has a two-day beard. How do men do that?”
We all grin at her.
She sighs dramatically again and waves a hand between all of them. “Doesn’t matter, though. He’s like forty. I’m twenty-two. He’s never even looked at me.”
“How many times have you met him? Weren’t you at school in Dallas? Doesn’t he live in San Antonio?”
“Yeah. I started spending holidays with Brody and Dallas as soon as I turned eighteen. I’ve probably met Haden ten times. All he ever does is grunt at me, though. The man has perfected the grunt. Somehow, he makes it sexy. His furrowed brow just makes him more attractive. Maybe I will stick around here for a while.” A huge smile grows on her face.
I grab her hand. “Welcome to the Wilde mansion. You’ll be here for life.”
She rolls her eyes. “Let’s not get carried away. I suspect Haden thinks I’m a child. Plus, he’s only coming here to do the renovations. He’ll probably only stay two months.”
Reagan shakes her head. “The renovations for this mansion alone will take years. Once he gets here, he’ll get sucked in by the water source, too. That man is yours.”
We all laugh. I would say that’s preposterous, but hell, based on what I know about this mansion so far, Reagan is probably right.
Claire unfolds her legs. “We better start getting the bride ready. After all, her first breeding session is in like six hours.”
Reagan and Emilia join Claire’s laughter.
I wish it were a joke, but they aren’t far off the mark.
We make our way into the bathroom, and Claire pulls out a chair. “Sit. I’ll work on your hair.”
“I call makeup,” Emilia says.
“I’ll take nail duty,” Reagan adds.
After a few minutes of my pampering, I draw in a breath. “Can I ask a personal question?”
“Of course,” they all respond.
My face heats. “I feel kind of ridiculous asking this, but I’ve uh…I’ve never had sex before. How bad is it going to hurt?”
Reagan squeezes my shoulder. “He made you wait, huh?”
I nod. Maybe this was a bad idea. I’m oversharing. I feel lame.
Claire grips my other shoulder. “Don’t be embarrassed. Ryder made me wait.”
“Tiago made me wait, too.”
I glance at them. “You were both virgins?”
They nod.
Emilia swallows. “Don’t look at me. I haven’t had sex either. I’m no help.”
I blow out a breath. I feel much less weird now.
Claire strokes my hair. “Don’t worry. I’m certain Dallas will do everything he can to make sure you’re as prepared as possible. It will still hurt, but only for a minute.”
Reagan nods. “She’s right. And then it’s ecstasy.”
