I want nothing to do with you. I never have. I’m not into desperate. Especially the ones who betray their friends.” I’m not the type of man who hits women as much as I wish to strangle her. It’s agonizing how everyone is out to hurt Mila. Fuck it pisses me off. Jealousy and envy they all have over her.
“Have you talked to Mila? Do you know where she’s at?” I ask. Baiting her. Fucking backstabber. All this damn time she knew, I had been searching for my girl. She lied to us just so she could get to me. My jaw twitches with rage and my blood boils.
She presses her palms on my chest.
I swat them away. I pound the wall with my fist. “Answer me!”
“I-I don’t know. I told you I don’t know! It’s been so long. Don’t you think it’s time to move on? I can treat you good. I’ve always been in love with you. Mila never cared about you. She never deserved your love. She left you,” she pleads, hopeful.
I bark out a laugh.
Liam shakes his head at her in disagreement. “I contemplate it’s you that needs to move on from Dominic, Skylar. He doesn’t want you. Dominic never will, you know why he’s with Mila. Dominic and Mila, have a son together. And you’re a lying, cold-hearted bitch. You knew where Mila was and you knew she thought he passed away. You fucking knew she was hurting inside.” Liam gets in her face, his nostrils flare. “She went through hell. She thought she lost Dominic, and you kept quiet. It’s fucked up, Skylar. How could you stoop so low?”
Her eyes grow as big as saucers. “W-w-what do you mean she has a son with you, Dominic?” she stutters with a pout as if I betrayed her.
“None of your damn business, stay the hell away from me and my girl you hear me?”
She cringes. “Yeah, ok got it.” She gathers her belongings and makes her way to a table with her friends.
Thank the fuck.
I take one last sip of my beer before slapping a $20 on the counter. “Thanks, Will,” I shout as I walk to my truck, heading back to my girl,my family. What a shit of a day first my mom comes in with her bullshit. Then, Skylar, the twit, is delusional. The world seems to think they can keep us apart. So many lied to us; my family, Skylar.
What they don’t know is how strong our love is, how the fire in us can literally start a fire it burns so strong it seeps down to our souls. Every soul has a partner, and no matter how far apart they are from one another or what elements they are in, they will always find one another. This is our destiny, and love is what makes it so. As they say, if it’s meant to be, it will be, and fate has a way of finding its way back to you. Mila found her way back to me. God, Mila turned me into a sappy fool.

MILA
“Dante, get your pajamas on, it’s getting close to bedtime.”
OMG, boys!He comes out of his room sweaty and sporting his Spiderman costume, I pinch the bridge of my nose.
“You just took a shower and now you’re all sweaty.”
“Sorry, Mommy, Mary Jane needed help. Venom was after her.”
“Huh.”
He cleans his forehead, wiping off sweat from trickling down. He gazes at me with those big brown eyes with a smile that lights up my world showing those beautiful dimples.
“I saved her, she’s fine now.” He lets out a relieved breath.
There’s a knock at the door, my handsome man wearing jeans, and a tight button shirt showing every inch of bulging muscle. He stands holding a single red rose just like the one gifted me the day we met.
“Hey, Angel.”
I do a double sweep of his profile biting my glossed lips needing a taste. “Hey back.”
“For you, Angel. I missed you all damn day.” He hands me a beautiful red rose.
I step back letting him in. “Thank you.”
He pulls the strings to my pajama pants, yanking me close to him and he kisses me sweetly.
“Daddy, you here?” Dante runs into his dad’s arms.
“Of course, buddy. Why are you so sweaty?”
