“What can I get you both to drink?” the waiter asks, his eyes pinned on my chest.

Brian clears his throat. “Can you get us some wine, Franciacorta, please?”

The waiter’s eyes are back on Brian. He nods. “Sure, be right back.”

“Never played you as a wine expert. You sound like you know your wines?” I ask as the server storms off.

He chuckles. “Honestly, I don’t know shit about wine. I just ordered the first thing on the list. I was trying to get the server to leave. His attention was fixed on your chest. And, pretty girl, I don’t like another man staring at my date.” The light of desire brightens his mellow blue eyes.

I smile nervously; I'm not used to a man's attention.

The waiter takes our order. I request lasagna, and Brian chooses the trio platter with lasagna, spaghetti, and chicken parmesan. I’m enjoying our conversation. He's easy to talk to and has a good sense of humor. Brian shares his love of surfing with me.

“We can go surfing next week or when you’re available.” His fingertips brush mine.

“That would be great, Brian. It’s been a while since I’ve surfed. I might be a little out of practice. My dad would take me as a kid until freshmen year in high school.”

“That won’t be a problem. I’m an excellent teacher. I can refresh your memory and show you my superior talents.” He gives me a wink, and I blush, like a tomato.

We continue talking about how he’s attending the university, and he’s majoring in marine biology. I'm impressed by his grounded and intelligent demeanor.

“Wow, Brian, your amazing. A marine biologist sounds like a brilliant career. I’m excited for you,” I say earnestly.

He lightly takes my hand and kisses my knuckles.

“Thank you; I’d like to take you and Dante whale watching sometime.” His kind gesture to include Dante swoons me.

My head springs up so fast I think I just got whiplash.Oh my God! What the fuck! What the hell? He’s here.Dominic and his fucking fiancée with her lovely, polished nails, blonde hair; she looks very well kept. Dominic looks gorgeous. He’s wearing denim jeans that fit perfectly and a black button-down shirt that shows every muscle in his body bulging out.

Dominic speaks to the hostess, and he stops talking as if he can feel me, turns, and our eyes meet. He stiffens his stance, his gaze burning with such intensity I feel my soul shiver. His mouth gapes open. Then he closes it. He peers at me with longing, maybe love. In a split second, his eyes go cold. He’s trailing up and down my profile. I can’t seem to look away. His fiancée is talking to him, and he’s not even listening to her.

Dominic notices Brian, and he turns around. The hostess seats them. A little too close for comfort. The knots in my stomach churn painfully. The taste of betrayal seethes under my skin. He kisses, her trailing kisses down her neck to her mouth, and that asshole looks at me and smirks. His eyes grow hot with hate. Averting my eyes, I turn back to my date, and I smile brightly at Brian. I’m not letting Dominic’s little show bother me. What happened tomyDominic? He seems so different.

Bile rises in my throat, and there’s a twist in the pit of my stomach. Brian leans to take my hand, peppering small kisses.

“Are you okay, pretty girl?”

I snort inwardly.Am I okay? Fuck no, I’m not. The man I love, who didn’t let me know he was alive, is sitting next to me with his fiancée. Instead, I give him a flirty smile.

“I’m good, sorry just the wine. I think I had a little too much since I hardly drink.”

“If you’re ready to go, we can leave.”

Thank God, I need to get out of here. Fuck, why does he have to be here tonight?

He pressed his lips to hers once more, his expression was malicious and scornful.Bastard.Brian still has his hands over mine, stroking my hand with his thumb. My eyes are still on Brian. A loud growl erupts from the table across from us. I know it was Dominic.

Before Brain turns to glare his way, I tell him, “I need to use the restroom, and then we can leave.”

“Sure.” Brian glances at me worriedly.

My face must show sourness.

After washing my hands and grabbing a paper towel from the dispenser, I open the door to walk out, and a hand grabs my arm and pushes me back into the restroom. Dominic pins me to the wall; his hand is up above my head. I can’t breathe. My heart is palpitating so fast it’s going to explode. His mouth instantly covers my neck, his hot breath soaking into my pores.

He whispers softly, “Angel.”

I haven’t heard that name in such a long time. Goosebumps scatter all over. I can’t talk, words not spilling from my mouth. He kisses my neck, assaulting me with his mouth. Next, he sucks hard, licking my neck up and down. He groans. And goes back to sucking like it was a meal of its own. My body stays pinned to the cold tile. I’m like an ice sculpture stuck in place, frozen and paralyzed to move or talk. I’m trying so hard not to moan. Damn, it feels so good, so bad my traitorous body wants him. He sucks so hard that I hear a pop at the end.
