She stops me, pressing her lips on mine—a quick brush. “Don’t you dare apologize. Don’t you dare blame yourself. This was all her. She took them away from me, you did not. Rachel was envious of my parents for the love they had for each other, just like she was of ours, Dominic.” Her eyes search mine as she holds onto my hand tightly. A small slit smile plays on her beautiful face.
“So, you cried to be next to me when you were a wee baby.”
I can’t help but laugh. It feels good. “Ahh, I see you picked up on us knowing each other as toddlers.”
Mila wraps her soft, warm hand around my neck as I pull her onto my lap. She leans in for a peck on the lips. Feels so good to have her in my arms. I’ll take anything she’ll give me. I love her profoundly. I bury myself in the crook of her neck… inhaling her scent.
“I can’t believe we met as babies, and when we first saw each other at my dad’s restaurant, it was like we instantly fell into each other like—”
“Like home, reunited, our hearts became one,” I finish for her, kissing her cheek to her forehead.
“Yes,” she breathes out slowly. Mila kisses me on the lips, a small brush on the lips.
I’m dying for more. I missed her.
“You know, it’s strange I didn’t plan on moving back to California. The memories of us were too much for me. Still, something was pulling me to move back, to open a studio in California. I see it clearly now makes more sense. Our hearts, our souls called to one another. We will always find our way back to each other.” She looks up at me. “Sounds cheesy, but it’s true.”
“Yeah, baby, you’re mine forever. I can’t live without you, Mila. It’s you and me against the world. I need you like I need air.”
I love how she molds into me. I keep kissing her all over her face, I can’t seem to stop. It feels like years of not having her near me. My arms wrap around her waist tightly. She tilts her head to the side.
“What are you thinking about?” she asks.
“I can’t help but apologize for what she took from you, two loving parents, baby. You’re so strong, my warrior.”
“I don’t want you to apologize. Rachel thought she loved my dad, but it wasn’t love; it was a sick obsession. I’m just glad I know the entire story. I feel more at peace now, you know?”
I nod. I’m happy she has this. She removes herself off my lap, sitting next to me. She reaches for her wine taking a sip.
“I wish I would’ve met my mom, and none of this would’ve happened, but I can’t live bitter with rage. They both died tragically. I miss them dearly, but they’re together now, watching over us. I need to see it in a different light. I have closure now. I have you, Dante, Nana, Uncle Roger, and Sophie. You’re my home, Dominic, you and Dante.”
Fuck she’s amazing here, I envisaged her looking at me with hate, a son of a murderer. But no, her eyes bore into mine with so much love. I can’t help but lift her and sit her on my lap, smacking my lips on hers. Our tongues tangle with each other.
The moment her lips press against mine, an electric shock of pleasure jolts through my body. I pull her closer to me and run my tongue across her soft lips. They part and I deepen the kiss, savoring the taste of her as our tongues intertwine in a passionate embrace. The intensity of the moment pulses through us, and all I want is more.
I moan in delight at the intimacy of our kiss. My dick twitches against my zipper. The love I have for her is above and beyond. She wants to see stars. I can’t help it; I’ll give her more. I’ll give her the universe. She deserves it all. Tearing away from the kiss, I desperately don’t want to end, but fuck, there’s something else I need to tell her about Samantha. We pant and breathe in each other’s space. I wince.
“Baby, there is one more thing I need to tell you.”
She frowns. “What now?”
I lick my lips, savoring her taste on my lips.
“Umm, well, one night I was drinking on the sofa, really depressed, kinda drunk. Samantha showed up.”
Her forehead creases with worry. I rub my thumb on the top of her hand. I take a sip of whisky and continue.
“She was wearing a long coat, then she dropped it to the floor… she was naked.” She tries to jump off my lap. I hold her in place.
“What the hell, Dominic? You said you didn’t do anything with her.”
“Angel, listen to me, please. She tried to get me to seduce her. At the time, I didn’t know she was the one who gave you the report to break us up and told you we slept together.”
“Spit it out, Dominic. Did you fuck her?” she bites with rage.
“No, baby, I didn’t. I grabbed her arm and shoved her out the door along with her bear coat. She’s not you. No woman holds a candle to you. I kicked her ass out of the house.”
“Did you get turned on?”
