“I have to go after him!” She tripped over the cat but everyone was fine and she threw open the door, crashing so hard into Aidan that it knocked him down with her on top of him. Ooof.

“Hi, Cupcake!”

“Aidan! I thought you left!”

“Where would I go? I was giving Lauren five minutes to bring you around and if she didn’t then I was going to wing it.” Beth’s hand laid on his face and he kissed the inside of her wrist that rested on his mouth. “You don’t think you intimidated me so much that I would actually leave after professing my undying love for you, do you?”

“Your undying love?”

“Yes. I love you, Beth.”

“You do?”

She smiled as his arms slid around her waist, up her back, and into her hair, pulling her to him.

Finally, he was going to get to kiss Beth.

Just as their lips touched Lauren stepped over their bodies. “Don’t mind me. Beth, I’m leaving. I’m going to that hotel over in what’s that strange sounding town?”

“Sneem!” Aidan and Beth said simultaneously.

“Yeah, that one. Sneem. And won’t be back for a couple days.” Wink, wink.

“Hey, Lauren, wait! Am I still a dickhead?”

She thought for a moment and smiled at the happy couple. Did Lauren know or did Lauren know! “Nah, but you’re a pinhead,” she said as she slid into her car.

“I can live with that.”

Beth turned her face back to Aidan. “You were saying?”

“You really should have come with a warning label.”

“Why? So you could avoid me?”

“No. So I could have found you sooner.”

Epilogue

“I love it here. It’s everything you said it was in your book but …” She looked away, knowing if she looked into his eyes, she would lose her nerve.

“But?”

“I want to go home. I’m ready to go home.”

“You’re leaving Ireland?”

“Yes.”

He couldn’t believe it. They had been so happy. “Well, I could drive you to the airport.”

“No, that’s okay. I’m already packed.” She gestured to her car.

“You’re leaving now?”

She nodded and blinked away tears.

“Are you coming back?”
