This wanted.

I can hear him now.

Every two of my steps is one of his.

It’s no use.

He was always going to find me.

My feet are wet when I finally duck behind the largest tree I can see.

Back pressed against it, I wait; the anticipation growing with each new breath.

His boots pound rhythmically through the snow.

Never wavering. Only growing louder.

I breathe in, and hold it—clamping both hands over my mouth.

I squeeze my eyes shut when his footsteps finally stop.

He’s taunting me.

I know I left footprints.

I’m so hard. So desperate for him to grab me.

I hear him move to the right on the other side of the tree.

I go the opposite way in an attempt to circle the trunk, but just like always, I’m no match for his size.

There’s a strong, giant hand on the back of my neck, and I’m being slammed stomach first into the trunk.

I try to move, but he squashes my cheek into the rough bark.

Eden’s other hand slips beneath my hoodie as he plants his feet wide behind me.

“You didn’t get very far.”

His breath burns against my ear as he finds my hip.

I stare as far into the forest as I can without actually seeing anything.

He grinds against me.

His hand is searing hot as he presses it against my skin, like he’s branding me.

“Should I have given you a bigger head start?”

Without thinking I nod my head, but the scratch against my cheek feels amazing. “You should have given me ten minutes.”

“And what would you have done with that?”

“Gotten further away from you.”

He scoffs in my ear and pulls his hips back just enough to slide his hands down the back of my sweatpants. “And how much harder would you have been then?”

“I’m not—ah… fuck!”
