“Just kiss me. It’s fine.” Her eyes snap to me.
“Wow, so eager. Have you been dreaming about this moment?”
It’s a joke, but her face drops in horror. “Did Emma tell you? I’m going to kill her.”
I take a beat, letting it sink in.Oh, shit.
“Uh, no. It was a complete shot in the dark. Have you had a dream about me?”
Her heart stutters. “No.”
Oh fuck, she did. “Go on. Tell me what it was about.”
I can’t hide the grin spanning my face. She shakes her head, refusing to answer, and I think that can only mean one thing.
“Did you have a sex dream about me?” I’m having fun already.
“Would you just shut up and kiss me so we can get on with the night?”
“Like right now?”
She nods.
“I don’t know, I want to hear more about the dream.”
“Don’t be a baby about it, just kiss me.”
Her brows furrow and she places her hand on her hip like I’m the one being exhausting.
“Alright.” I grab her forearm and bring her into the heart of the common room where I can ensure more people will see.
Leaning down, I breathe in her scent. I’m in her air, and she stumbles. Grabbing her hand, I bring her a step closer so our chests are almost touching. She’s so nervous; it’s cute. I wonder if she’s ever kissed anyone before. Her gaze is trained on my lips as I cup her cheek with my palm. She flinches at first, but I run my thumb up her jaw and stare into her eyes.Relax.
One quick glance around the room tells me everyone is definitely watching.
Wasting no more time, I tug her by the waist toward me and lift her chin so her lips meet mine. One quick kiss for the party.
Pure electricity seers through me when our lips touch. Hot. Like an electric wire on the skin. She hesitates, then deepens the moment with another kiss. Then another. I squeeze her, needing her against me. Every swipe of her tongue takes me further from reality. I can’t get enough of her. The softness of her lips. Her heart rate skyrocketing. I need her.No one else can have her.
We realize it at the same time, and our eyes open.
I see her for the first time. Olivia is the type of beautiful you see in actresses you dream about as a kid. That, I saw very clearly the day we met, but something has shifted.
Shefeelslike mine.
She tastes like mine too.
That’s a little much for a man she just met. I'll need to drown out that revelation with liquor immediately.
We’re both dumbfounded, staring still.
“You, uh, want me to get us drinks?” I say.
Her lips are wet with my saliva. It’s hot. That calm outer exterior has cracked just enough to see the embarrassment peeking through in the pink of her cheeks.
“Yeah, let’s do that.”
“I’m on it.”
