“Georgia, I know you’re in there. Get your ass out here. I waited for you at that damn bar for three fucking hours. I do not tolerate being made to look like a fool.” Looking over at Stonewall, he shakes his no but I ignore him.

Stepping out on the front porch, I notice there’s only a few of Rodney’s usual crew with him. His hair is sticking straight up like he’s been pulling at it, and there’s a wildness about his eyes that wasn’t there before.

“George get back in here right this minute.” Stonewall whisper yells at me from the open door. Instead of listening to him, I square my shoulders, raise my chin, and give Rodney my best look of disdain.

“I know you don’t have any allies Rodney; you and your crew are all alone in Oklahoma.” Rage flashes in his eyes, I know I’m goading the beast, but I can’t bring myself to give a fuck at the moment.

Meanwhile the few guys, he brought with him are looking at each other questioningly. Stonewall must see them too because he comes out to stand next to me.

“Yeah, those Dallas allies you claim to have, yeah that was my dad. I kind of eliminated him months ago, well actually my mate eliminated him. I just helped.” Stonewall reveals and Rodney’s eyes bug out of their sockets.

“You’re technically looking at the new jaguar king for Dallas, not that I’m taking the job, but you get the idea. You have no one to call for backup.” Stone says smugly. Rodney’s guys start to back up from him, holding their hands up like they want nothing to do with what’s about to happen. They’re scared, I can smell their fear permeating the air.

“Don’t listen to him, he’s lying. Of course, I still have the jaguar king as an ally.” Rodney pleads with his men before turning to point a finger at Stonewall.

“You have no proof!”Rodney yells, his face turning red with anger.

“You’re right I don’t have proof, except this.” Before I can blink Stonewall has shifted into a huge fucking jaguar. Dominance oozes off of him, he’s pure alpha male. When I look out in the yard at Rodney’s crew, what little there is of them are fleeing into the woods.

“Looks like you lost even your crew for backup. Leave Rodney, you’ve lost, just leave.” Please just leave; I just want him gone from my life for good.

“Not a fucking chance you little whore. Did you think I was blind?” He laughs manically moving closer to me. I have no idea what he’s talking about though.

“I saw the way the two of you looked at each other. You’re mine Georgie. MINE!” Spittle flies from his mouth as he yells the last bit causing me to jump. Stonewall is prowling behind me, waiting for Rodney to try to strike.

“I was never yours.” Anger starts to course through me; I can feel my animal at the surface. She’s pissed, she wants his blood. I’m having a hard time controlling her.

“What did you let him do to you?” He growls out.

“Why are your eyes changing color?” He’s moving toward me again but stops short when Stonewall stands in front of me.

“You let that filth claim you, you let him change you!” He goes from screaming to suddenly calm in a matter of seconds, brushing his hand through his hair carefully.

“That’s okay, it’s not your fault. Him on the other hand should be walking into my surprise right about now. It’s a better ending than he deserves that’s for sure. Your little lover boy won’t stand in our way anymore baby.” What does he mean? What did he do to Rooster?

I don’t think I just act, running at him. Stonewall doesn’t have time to get between us and Rodney is faster than I thought he was. His hand is wrapped around my throat before I can blink my eyes. Stonewall lets out a roar that shakes the ground.

“Stand down pussy cat; you know you won’t risk her life. I on the other hand make no promises.” Gripping his hand with my nails, I claw at him.

“What did you do to Rooster?” Instead of answering me, he yanks me to him planting a kiss on my lips.

“It doesn’t matter what I did to him, what matters is you’re mine now. There aren’t any more obstacles in our way. We can be together, like we were meant to be.” Gently he brushes my hair out of my face as he caresses my cheek with his thumb. Revulsion pulses through my body.

“I’m not yours Rodney, I’ll never be yours. I’ll always be his.” His hand tightens against my throat; it’s getting harder to breath. I feel his nails elongate against my throat, making tiny puncture marks against my skin.

“Don’t make me angry Georgie, I love you, but even I have my limits. My animal doesn’t like you, if he takes over, I can’t guarantee your safety.” I want to yell that it’s because his animal knows I’m not his mate that he doesn’t like me. Unfortunately, the lack of air is preventing me from doing so.

But it does give me an idea, a risky idea, but an idea, nonetheless. Kicking out with my feet, I make contact exactly where I’m hoping to and his hold on my throat loosens just slightly.

“That will cost you Georgie. I was going to let your little friend here live, but you’ve left me no choice but to kill him too.” I seriously doubt he’d be able to kill Stonewall, even on a good day, and today was not a good day for him, obviously.

“He’ll gut you within minutes and pick his teeth with your bones. You’re weak Rodney, just plain weak.” A growl barrels out of his chest as he flings me away from him and changes within seconds.

Stonewall is on him a half second later, but I’m not letting him be the one to put an end to this. Concentrating I shift as quickly as I can, it’s not even close to as fast as Stonewall or Rodney shifted. Letting my animal take over, I stretch all my muscles out, roaring loudly at the two males in front of me.

They both halt their attack to look at me for a second before going back to pummeling each other. Nope, that’s not going to work for me or my animal. Charging them, I aim for the center of their mass, my head butting them apart. Both growl in warning to me, but I have zero fucks to give.

Growling low at Rodney’s coyote, I get between him and Stonewall, making it clear who Rodney’s going to fight. Stonewall hisses behind me, but I ignore his warning dropping low for an attack. Rodney must have been telling the truth because his coyote has no problem attacking me.
