“You have to tell me if there is something wrong with her. I can’t have her sick on the back of my bike. We still have a three-and-a-half-hour ride home,” I say, sounding frustrated.

“I can’t tell you something that I don’t know. I mean, if you want to know what is wrong with her, ask her.”

“I can’t. Every time we go to talk about anything, something happens, and she is puking her guts up again,” ITorch exclaims.

“She can’t tell you what she doesn't know, brother. But we really need to get on the road soon, or we will be heading straight into the fucking rain,” Razor says, making eye contact with me.

“If you two will close the door so the whole world doesn’t know my business, I’ll tell you what is up. And some of that bacon better be for me,” Vixen states, shocking the shit out of me. Turning to her, I find the most beautiful women I’ve ever seen smirking that she caught me off guard.

I’m shocked at the strength Logan uses to push past me to get to Vixen. She climbs into bed with her, wrapping her in a tight hug. “Are you okay, Vix?” I barely make out being whispered.

“To be honest, Lo, I don’t know,” Vixen tells her so sadly that it looks as if she may cry. She looks scared, like she has the world on her shoulders but also like she’s had a weight lifted from her shoulders.

Leaning back onto the dresser, I wait, knowing good and damn well Razor will ask when he gets tired of them chit-chatting without talking to us.

Razor is our information man. He is one big mother fucker. You wouldn’t expect him to have an IQ at genius level with an eidetic memory and the ability to hack into the CIA database at fifteen just because he was bored. They sent him into the Air Force and used his skills to help the government instead of hurting them. With all this, he tends to know everything about everything and can find out anything on anyone, which is fucking scary.

No one knows anything else about him. Prez went on a “business trip” two years ago, and when he got back, Razor was with him, ready to become a prospect. We quickly learned that if Razor doesn’t know, he will dig until he knows everything. So, when people whisper, and he doesn’t know what is going on, he gets twitchy, so I know that it won’t be but another second before…

“Do you ladies care to share with the class?” Razor asks with a brow raised like he may know something but wants them to confirm.

I can't hide the smirk when Lo shows us how sassy she really is and turns, flipping him the bird and sticking her tongue out. This causes the girls to bust out laughing until they have tears running down their cheeks. My eyes connect with Vixen, and even though I see the fear in her eyes, I also see the spitfire trying to find her way out. I’m coming to care for this woman, and that shakes me to my core.

“What he said. Care to share what all that was about?” I ask, pulling down the mask I know I need to survive this woman in one piece.

“Not at this moment, no,” Vixen says with a shrug.

“Is that the case?” I ask, fighting the urge to take her over my knee and spank her plump ass.

“It is. Can I have some of that yummy food, or are you just going to make me smell it?” Vixen asks, sitting up in the bed.

“Good question. How about a trade? I give you the food, and you tell me what all that was about,” I retort, stepping toward the table with the food. Vixen looks at the table from the corner of her eye. Before she can move, I know what’s about to happen. What I don’t expect is her speed.

Bouncing to her feet, Vixen leaps over Lo and is across the room before I can take two steps. I’m able to catch her just before she grabs the food, rolling so I catch the brunt of our fall. I go to pin her but she wiggles free. Moving again in a way I can’t believe and with me still on the ground, she maneuvers me into an armbar. I haven’t been locked into one by anyone in a long time. I know if I fight her hold, I'll either break or dislocate something. I stare in wonder.

Ever since I joined the Army Rangers, there has only been one man that can take me down, and he is standing at the door of this room, laughing his ass off. Vixen doesn’t even acknowledge the ass hat standing there like a hyena.

“Now, can I eat my food so we can get on the fucking road?” Vixen asks, leaning closer to my face and putting pressure on my arm.

“Don’t think that this will happen again. I will not be underestimating you any time soon,” I tell her, and as soon as I see her guard slip, I roll, straddling her hips. Leaning down, I whisper, “Never let your guard down, Vix.”

God help me, I can’t stop myself as I take in her scent and place a kiss just below her ear.

“Fuck, Torch, she took you down so fast,” Duck wheezes out, standing to his full height.

“Shut the fuck up, asswipe. Once she’s done eating, we’re on the road. Let everyone else know.” I help Vixen off the floor and hand her the food, then step outside with all my brothers and take a deep breath, trying to clear my head.

“Have you talked to Prez?” Duck asks.

“Yeah, I called him as soon as I dealt with Vixen after that fucker left,” I say, getting pissed all over again that he had the nerve to show up here.

“So, are we getting our asses kicked when we get back or not?” Wesson questions, scanning the parking lot.

“Let’s just say, all he told me was to get our asses home. He said he’d deal with our shit when we get there,” I reply, shrugging like it’s no big deal. I leave out that I didn’t tell him that I'm not just dropping off Vixen and Lo. All the guys stand a little straighter and look at each other. We all know when Prez has nothing to say, we’re in some deep shit.

“I’m feeling itchy, so we need to get on the move and back to our territory,” Wesson states, scanning the parking lot again like something is going to jump out and attack us at any moment.

“You are not kidding. Torch, we need to bounce. We’ve got the same feeling,” Ghost, one of our enforcers, says.
