“Can we talk about this later?” Her voice is so loud. I hope to God that she hasn’t everyone’s attention.

“There are only two reasons that you would turn down alcohol … One, you are going to ride, or two, you are pregnan—” Lo’s eyes widen, and she starts shaking her head. I try to hold back the tears.

“You know that means he will never stop coming for you,” she whispers.

“He didn’t know. I found out the day that we left and broke up the test to flush it down the toilet,” I whisper back.

“How the fuck did you get a test without him knowing? Vix, he watches everything that you do,” Lo asks.

“I stole it from one of the club whores,” I say with a slight grin. Lo just shakes her head and takes a long pull of her drink.

“Are you going to tell Torch about that?” she murmurs, looking down at my lap.

“We should be out of here before there is any need for them to know,” I tell her, hoping that is the truth.

The door to church opening stops our conversation, and I watch the guys come out. To say that this club is full of very,verygood-looking men is an understatement, that’s for sure. I completely understand why the club whores stick around. The guys file out, and once the last guy comes out; Duck closes the doors again. A pit opens low in my gut. I know when the doors open again, they are going to want answers.

“Vix, what are we going to do? I’ve never understood Fire’s obsession with you and why he refuses to let you go even if he could have several women. If he ever finds out that you are pregnant, he’ll never let you stay gone.”

“I’ve been trying to figure it out myself for the last year and don’t get it either. What we need is to figure out how to get to the other side of the country before anyone else in this godforsaken state finds out,” I whisper back, scanning the room.

The guys crank up the radio and send the club girls over to get drinks. With that, I know the real side of the club will show me just how these men are no different than Fire, Ice, and those jackasses. I turn back to the bar and make eye contact with Blue, and I suddenly know why they call her that. Her eyes are so blue that you would believe they were fake.

“So, who are these lovely ladies?” Someone says on my left.

Glancing over my shoulder, my heart drops—I know this man, and not in a good way. If he finds out about the baby, he will tell Fire. I need to leave—now.

“Ox, mind yourself,” Blue says, wiping down the bar before putting a beer down in front of him.

“I’m just having a friendly conversation with our new guest.” Ox’s grin makes me sick.

I need to be out of this clubhouse sooner rather than later. Those eyes belong to one of the many devils walking this earth. Lo shakes behind me, and I reach back to squeeze her thigh, trying to get her to calm down and show no fear. I stare him straight on, pulling my shoulders back because I am done letting assholes like this run all over me.

“I thank you for trying, but I’m not much in the mood for conversation. I hope you have a great night.” I offer a small smile before turning back to Lo.

His nasty breath surrounds me before I feel it on the shell of my ear. “Why don’t you let me show you a good night,” he whispers before running one hand up my spine and around my hip.

“If you know what is good for you, remove your hand and step the fuck away.” Someone growls low from behind Ox.

Ox chuckles before pulling away. “No harm, just getting to know the new girls.”

“I’ll tell you one time and one time only—these aren’t new girls for the club,” Torch’s anger burns hot. Ox walks backward with his hands up and a small smirk on his face.

Finally, he turns, wrapping his arm around a club whore, and walks down a hallway that I assume has all the member bedrooms.

“Prez is ready to talk to you in his office.” Torch takes a long pull off the beer Blue put in his hand.

“Sounds good to me. Let’s get it done,” I reply with more bravado than I’m feeling.

With a tight nod, Torch turns, heading down the opposite hall from the one Ox went down. I follow him with Lo at my side and Razor at our backs. On the second door on the left, Torch knocks twice. When we enter the rather large office, it feels tiny with all the men in it. Lo whimpers behind me. It makes me hate Fire even more, but most of all myself for getting us into this mess.

“It’s okay, ladies. No one in this room is going to hurt you.” The older carbon copy of Torch stands from behind the desk.

I give him a nod and step through the door, taking the seat closest to the door. Torch stands behind the prez, and Razor closes the door before standing behind Lo. I have a feeling that it’s going to take a lot for that man to let her walk away, but I know she is done with all things MC.

“My name’s Steel, and I’m the president of this rag-tag group of men. Can I ask your names?”

“Vixen, and this is my cousin, Lo.” Torch has already told him this, so I’m not sure why he asks.
