Rowan filled me in when we got home, not wanting to talk about it as we walked back in case anyone was around. I was terrified when Rowan and Axel left us in the coffee shop, but deep down I knew that they wouldn’t have done that if they didn’t think I was safe with the people there.

“I have to go in for church,” Rowan says as he places Hazel in my arms. He swipes the hair out of my face and plants a gentle kiss on my lips, leaving me wanting more. “You’re safe here.”

“I know,” I murmur.

He takes off in the direction of church and the rest of the guys follow him. When the door closes, silence rushes through the building, only the soft rock music left playing in the background.

I take a seat at the large dining table and smile down at my sleeping baby girl. She’s truly a little angel. She’s been sleeping really well since we moved into my house, and she really likes aschedule. If she doesn’t get to eat at the same time every day, she will let you have it.

I hear footsteps approaching and turn around to find Grayson and Sophie walking toward me. I frown because I thought that Grayson was already in church with the rest of the guys.

“Everything is okay,” Grayson tells me as he gets closer, my emotions must be written all over my face. “I just want you to join us in church. Sophie can take care of Hazel for a little bit.”

“You want me in church? I thought that was against the rules.”

Sophie chuckles. “For just any woman? Yes. For an old lady of the club president or vice president? No.”

She opens her arms, and I place Hazel in them. I stand up and follow Grayson to the room the guys have church in. I don’t know everything about the club just yet, but I know that church is something sacred to them. It’s where they plan everything and non-members aren’t allowed inside. So, this is rare, and even I know it.

He walks up to the heavy wood door and pushes it open with ease. Everyone turns to look at us as Grayson holds the door open for me to enter. Rowan jumps to his feet and rushes over to me.

“Is everything okay?” He asks.

“Everything is fine,” Grayson responds. “She just deserves to be in here and know what’s going on.”

He moves to the head of the large wood table and takes his seat. Rowan places his hand at the small of my back and leads me to the chair he vacated at Gray’s right. He sits down and pulls me into his lap, then Grayson bangs the gavel.

“We’re here because the Devil’s Knights are getting more obvious and we have one of their members here,” he tells everyone. “We’re going to bring him in to ask questions. Does anyone object?” No one says a word so Grayson nods at Axel, who stands and moves to the door.

He opens it wide for Levi and Ace who carry a struggling Devil’s Knights member between them. His eyes narrow on me as they force him inside and I immediately shrink into Ro’s side. He wraps his arms around me protectively, but I feel him stiffen at the sight of the man.

The prospects force the man to the ground in front of us all, shoving him until he’s on his hands and knees. He has a wicked scar through his right eyebrow, a black eye, and a split lip.

“Tell us why you’re stalking Everly Kincaid,” Grayson orders calmly from his helm at the head of the table.

The man just laughs. Axel steps up beside him and punches him in the face. I wince as blood flies out of his mouth. “Tell us or we’ll beat it out of you. I’m fine with either option,” he says with a maniacal smile.

The man looks up at him and smiles with blood in his teeth. “Fine,” he grunts before he spits blood on the floor at Axel’s feet. “Her fiancé fucked us over. He took our money and didn’t do his job. He was fucking our president’s woman on the side. Pres says that he’ll take Trav’s fiancé in return,” he shrugs.

Rowan tightens his hold on me. “You think I’m just going to give over my old lady because your president thinks he’s owed her?” He spits.

The asshole shrugs. “Doesn’t matter what I think, that’s what my pres wants.”

“Take him out of here,” Grayson mutters. The prospects take the Devil’s Knights member out of church and all eyes fall on Grayson again. “This was already a fucked-up situation, but it seems to be getting worse. Their president has another thing coming if he thinks he can make a play for one of our women.” He meets my eyes. “You have the full support of this club, Everly. We won’t let anything happen to you or Hazel,” he says before locking eyes with his brother. “We’re going to put two prospects on you guys for the time being, just as support to you.”

I know Rowan won’t like that because he’s fully capable of taking care of us himself, but he won’t argue because that’s all he wants; us safe.

“Understood.”

Grayson doesn’t say anything else, he just bangs the gavel again and everyone stands from their seats, leaving the room. Axel steps right back inside, though.

“Pres, there’s a cop here looking for Everly,” he says with a wince.

“What the fuck?” Rowan barks out.

I rise from his lap, and he stands, his hand immediately finding mine as he pulls me into the main room of the clubhouse. Sure enough, there is an officer standing there waiting for me with a grim expression on his face.

“Seargent Rojas,” Grayson greets him. “What’s going on?”
