“Looks good,” Wolf says eventually, squinting at Hawk’s work.

Hawk doesn’t say anything but his mouth twitches like he’s fighting a smile.

An hour later, the walls glow golden, the jungle shapes taking form. I finally slam the last bolt into the crib with a grunt of victory. “There. Built like a tank. Strong enough to hold three kids, easy.”

“Let’s hope we don’t need it to,” Wolf mutters, wiping his hands on a rag.

I get to my feet, taking in the room. The bright walls, the crib standing proud in the corner, the mural stretching across one side. It’s not perfect, not polished like some magazine spread, but it’s ours. Built with sweat and laughter and a few curses.

The door opens again, and Harper peers in. Her eyes widen as she takes in the transformation. “Oh,” she whispers, hand going to her mouth. Then she smiles, a soft, glowing thing that lights up the whole room. “It’s beautiful. You’ve made it perfect.”

I grin at that. “Told you we didn’t need no professional decorators.”

“Damn right,” Wolf agrees, pulling Harper gently into the room. “This is ours. Built with our hands. For our kid.”

Hawk sets down his brush and finally allows himself a smile, small but genuine. “Yeah. For family.”

Harper reaches out for us, pulling us into a messy four-way hug right there in the half-finished nursery.

And for the first time, it really feels real.

Chapter 31

Hawk

Today we’re moving into our new home, our place was immediately snapped up by some newer members of the pack, Trick, Jumper, and Fox, Wolf’s cousin. Wolf enlists them to help us move, which is surprisingly quick, as we decided to buy new furniture that suits our growing family. Mira is looking after Jenny while we get settled in.

Harper can’t help much; we refuse to let her lift anything, given her pregnancy, but she dictates where she wants things to go, and the six of us grunt and sweat as we move furniture around the large house. Assembling the giant bed in the main bedroom is a tricky job, and I’m grateful Wolf enlisted help. I might only be in my mid-thirties, but these days I’m feeling older. Less like the young, reckless man of my youth and more like the self-assured, mature father I never thought I’d become. I’m glad to begin this new chapter of my life, especially as I get to do it with the woman I love and my best friends by my side.

We’ve agreed that, at least for now, we’ll each get our own room to sleep in so that we’re not constantly in each other’s space, with Harper using the main room and sharing with us on a rotating basis. Jenny has her own room, and the baby will have the nursery. Of course, if we have more children—which I hope we will—we’ll have to move somewhere bigger. But for now, it works.

If you’d told me I’d want that six months ago, I would have laughed in your face. Sure, I always wanted a family, but I never imagined I would get this, not without giving up the Shadow Pack. I’ll be forever grateful that Harper has fully embraced MC life. She’s even expressed interest in learning how to ride a motorcycle, once the baby is born, of course.

I go and find Harper standing outside the house in the front yard, looking over at our old homes. She looks radiant, her cheeks flushed with happiness, wearing a sundress that floats comfortably over her bump. I admire the soft swell of her newly rounded breasts and stomach.

Wolf and Bear are with her, having unloaded the last of the boxes and sent Trick, Jumper, and Fox to begin their move over the road.

“Are you sure they aren’t going to be a problem, three young men like that, living right across the street? I can’t go back to wild parties keeping me and the kids up at night,” Harper says warily as she watches the boys start to unload their things into the old house.

“They’ll be fine, they’re under strict orders not to,” Wolf assures her.

“They can party at the clubhouse. That’s what it’s for,” Bear agrees.

“Besides, we can’t have you storming over there to tell them off and end up making them fall in love with you, too,” I tease as I approach from behind, pulling her close and squeezing her ass.

Harper laughs and leans back into me in a silent greeting. “Good lord, three of you are more than enough.”

“Good,” Wolf growls possessively. It’s funny how a man who is more than happy to share his woman with two other men can also get so jealous of anyone else.

Harper smiles, rounding on him playfully. “Worried I’ll trade you in for a younger model?” she teases, dancing out of his way as he grabs for her.

With her pregnant belly now fully rounded, she’s less nimble, and she stumbles slightly. I catch her in my arms before she falls. She looks up at me, her eyes wide with trust. “Not even a little bit,” I tell her before kissing her passionately.

“Good, because I’m yours. Now, I think it’s time we went inside and christened every room in our new home, don’t you?” she says seductively.

She doesn’t wait for a response as she walks inside, her skirt swishing. Her pregnancy hormones have made her even more insatiable than before, and we’ve been having plenty of sex, although gentler so we don’t harm the baby. We all rush after her, catching a tantalizing glimpse of her dropping her panties to the floor as she walks into the kitchen.

I’m the luckiest man alive, I think to myself.
