Dorvak?
I glanced down at my fully erect cock, knowing it was as ready for her as myKteerand my heart were. My fingers flew over the screen.
Bring an overnight bag to work today, Laney. I’m going to make you scream with pleasure tonight.
Chapter Seven
Laney
I’m tellingyou the truth: I havenoidea how I made it through work that day. To say I was distracted—anticipatory, excited—would be an understatement. After the way Dorvak had made me feel last night? And the promises he texted me this morning?
Yes, please.
I kept thinking of the overnight bag I’d stashed in the back closet by the stairs up to his apartment, and the way he’d nodded in approval when he’d seen it.
“Good girl,” he’d murmured, and my legs had gone weak with need at the sound.
Was it any wonder I was basically a distractedmess all day?
But to be honest, despite being so keyed up and on-edge all day, when the clock—the big decorative one I’d bought from Nifty Thrifty and hung over the door—ticked over to three p.m., I was surprised closing time had snuck up on us so quickly.
The last customers cleared out our display cases—we were gaining a following who came in at two forty-five each day to buy discounted breads and pastries—and I shooed them out the door so I could lock up and begin cleaning.
If I was rushing a little, I think I could be forgiven.
When I finally went back to the kitchen, it was to see Dorvak wiping his hands on a dish towel, having just finished washing up. He nodded solemnly to me. “Are you hungry, dkaar?”
Was I? I shook my head. “Just…anxious, I guess.”
“Anxious in a good way? Or nervous?”
He moved toward me, and I took a deep breath.
“Excited,” I corrected. “I’ve been looking forward to this.”
Another solemn nod and he held out his hand. “Then let’s make it everything you’ve dreamed about.”
He scooped up my bag and led me up the stairs to his apartment. “I’m going to take a shower. Would you like to join me?”
“Join you?” I squeaked. “Like…shower together?”
One corner of his lips twitched, and he lowered his mouth toward my ear. “I’m going to see you nakedtonight, Laney. I’m going to make you scream with pleasure.” When his tusk scraped my temple, I didn’t bother hiding my shudder of need. “I know you’re wet already—I can smell you. I just thought you might like to begin casually. A shower means we can touch each other. Explore.”
“Explore,” I repeated in a whisper, my mind already conjuring what he’d look like naked. Then I cleared my throat. “Yeah. Yeah, that’s a good idea.”
He straightened. “Then go get ready. I’ll join you.”
I hurried to strip out of my work clothes and pee and check my teeth for spinach and all the other things one did right before one expected to get busy. You know what I mean, yeah? Then I turned on the shower and watched as the steam began to fog up the glass walls.
I’d stepped inside before I felt a change in the airflow telling me Dorvak was in the bathroom with me. Sure enough, his big body joined me in the shower, blocking some of the water from hitting me, and I tried my best to play it cool.
“Hi!”
Okay, not so cool.
“Turn around,” he rumbled, reaching for his shampoo. “I hope you don’t mind if we use my product on you. I don’t have your coconut stuff.”
He could smell what kind of shampoo I used? I turned around, already a little dazed at the thought he’d been paying such close attention to me, and when his big hands dug into my scalp, massaging the shampoo in, I moaned out loud.
