“Then I’ll give you something to look at,” she said in a seductive tone and began dancing sensually in front of me.

When she turned her back to me and shook her behind, other men in the bar whistled and made comments about how she should keep twerking.

Looking to the dance floor, I could see Tania dancing with a tall, broad-shouldered man and Clara being swung around by a guy with a blue shirt.

Once again, Clara caught me looking, and her gaze went to the blonde woman twerking in front of me.

By then, the woman was pushing her behind against me and throwing her hair around. I gently pushed her away, but she didn’t take that well. Grabbing on to my hands she pulled them around her.

I was starting to see what Tania had meant when she said that human women could be quite aggressive.

Noticing a man three stools away who stared at the blonde with desire radiating from him, I asked the blonde to go and dance for him instead.

Clara joined us and leaned against the bar. She didn’t say anything but watched the blonde.

It provoked the drunk woman, who pointed a finger at Clara and wrinkled her nose up. “Who are you? What are you looking at?”

“If you gave that guy a bit of your attention, I really think you would make his night,” I told the blonde and at the same time, I reached out and pulled Clara closer to me. The move seemed to surprise her because Clara lost her balance and stumbled against me.

“You okay?” I asked and steadied her on her feet.

The blonde kept talking. It was tempting to cloud her mind and make her go away, but since she wasn’t a physical threat, that option would be questionable. Instead, I got up from the chair. Lifting Clara onto the high stool, I stayed close to her. With my face toward the bar, I smiled down at Clara and effectively used my body to shield Clara from seeing the aggressive blonde woman and listen to the unpleasantries that came from her.

“You’re like a magnet,” Clara told me.

I nodded to the dance floor. “What about that guy you danced with?”

“Ah, I think he was just trying to be polite. His friend was dying to get Tania’s attention and as his wingman, it was his job to distract me. I would have come sooner to talk to you, but you seemed to be busy talking to beautiful women.”

A group of three men came and tried to push through to get to the bar. Clara saw them shoving at me and offered me more space by moving her legs and allowing me to get closer. “You know, that blonde woman reminds me of Shanice.”

“Who?”

“She’s the woman that Jeremy left me for. You know what they say: there’s always someone younger and prettier.”

I looked into her eyes, desperately wishing I could read her thoughts. “You’re still upset about Jeremy leaving you.”

She had to half shout because of the loud music, and leaned closer to speak into my ear. “Let’s talk about something else. I don’t want to be a Debbie Downer.” Rubbing my upper arm, she pulled back and looked at me. “We should dance.”

I thought she was joking, but when she repeated it, I quickly dismissed the idea. “I can’t link to you, and I wouldn’t know how to dance like a human.”

“It’s easy. You can just sway back and forth. I’ll show you.” Taking my hand, she smiled and led me to the dance floor. I moved us to the other side of the crowd, away from Tania, who was still dancing with the same man as before.

I was a bit pressured and looked around to study the moves of the people around us. There was no pattern from what I could detect except that most moved from side to side in the same rhythm. Other than that, it was a mix of people throwing hands in the air, spinning around, dipping low, and rocking their heads up and down and from side to side.

Taking my hands, Clara looked up at me with her big expressive eyes. “Just take it easy and follow my movements,” she said and swayed from side to side. It was easy enough to imitate and slowly I began to implement some of the moves that I saw others making.

“See, you’re doing great.” She grinned up at me, her features soft from the dimmed light and her eyes sparkling. I could feel her body close to mine and my smile widened when Clara closed her arms around my waist. The softness of her breasts against my body and the feeling of her curves beneath my hands made itimpossible not to get aroused. My lips touched her right earlobe as I replied, “I like dancing with you.”

Without letting go of my hand, she lifted our arms and spun in a circle ending right back in my arms with her pretty face turned to me.

For a long moment she swayed from side to side as we looked deep into each other’s eyes. Growing more serious, I admitted, “I wish I could give you what you need, Clara.”

“Yeah. Me too.” The sad smile on her face made me squeeze her in a tight hug and kiss the top of her hair.

It was impossible to talk on the dancefloor and soon Tania came to pull Clara to the ladies’ room anyway.

I took the opportunity to walk around the room and observe. It seemed that the drunker people were, the more daring they became. The blonde woman who had danced for me earlier now sat in a sofa in the far corner kissing a bald, muscled guy.
