“Wait a minute. Are you saying that no matter what woman I slept with she would have bound herself to me? Or in other words, that who I am doesn’t matter as long as I keep sleeping with her?”
I grinned. “No, no… that’s not what I’m saying at all. Although in your case, I can’t imagine any women not falling head over heels for you. It’s not a hypnotic drug or anything like that, and plenty of women leave their men despite the sex. It’s just that scientists have proven that when a couple has sex, hormones are released that change their perception of each other.”
“I’ll use that as a rule from now on. Just remember that you’re the one who told me that the more times you have sex with me, the more you’ll like me.” Malliko laughed and let a finger run down my inner thigh under the blankets that we had over us. We had already slept on the rooftop several nights and with him keeping me warm, I loved it up here. I felt him grow hard again against my back, just from talking about sex.
“Babe,” I said with a smile in my tone. “You’re insatiable.”
With a growl against my ear, he lifted my butt higher and slid inside me. I was still wet from our last round and full of his semen from when he came inside me not ten minutes ago. As all the other times when we had been physical, my body surrendered to him instantly.
With one hand around my waist and the other on my neck, Malliko controlled the pace as we merged.
I loved the feeling of how he filled me and was so lost in my desire for him that I didn’t notice we weren’t alone until the door closed.
Opening my eyes, I saw Tania approaching us. It was dark and I doubted she had seen anything, but I still pulled the blanket over my chest and tried to get off Malliko. He only tightened his hold on my waist, keeping me in place.
And so, when Tania came, she saw me on his lap with a stiff smile and a much too cheerful “Hiya.”
“So, this is where you two have been hiding.” She glanced at our setup with the air mattress, pillows, and blankets. “Looks cozy.”
“It is,” Malliko said calmly.
“Anyway, I’m off for a few days or weeks. I’m not sure how long I’ll be gone exactly, but I need you to water my plants for me, Clara. Will you do that?”
“Of course,” I said and nodded vigorously, as if she had entrusted me with her children. “Are you going on a vacation?”
“I wish, but no. My contact person just informed me that the Cultural Defense Team has a case in Canada. As always, I’m the nanny.” She shrugged a little. “To be honest, I’m not excited. It’s one thing to provide guidance and damage control for a single alien, but a whole team sounds exhausting. There are too many things that can go wrong.”
“I think we know what this case is about,” Malliko said and nothing in his voice revealed that a part of him was stillinside me. “They’re suspecting a woman was the victim of alien kidnappings. It’s my old team that’s handling the investigation. Clara and I offered to help, but they declined.”
Tania’s head tilted to the left. “That sounds bad.”
“Yes. Can I give you some advice, Tania?”
“Sure.”
“Don’t take any shit from Nerix. His social skills are lacking, and he can be rude at times.”
“Let me guess, is he Noxin?” she asked.
“No.”
“Ahh, so an introverted Tuncallon then?”
I chuckled. “That would explain it, but he’s Eidron.”
Tania threw up a dismissive hand. “I can handle Eidrons. Noxins are tough and Tuncallons are challenging, but Eidrons are easy.”
“Are you saying that I was easy to deal with? Need I remind you that you reported me to the Federation?”
She glanced between me and Clara. “I’m sorry about that. If I had understood how serious you were about being with Clara, I would have never…” I sensed the sadness behind those words and guesses that part of it was guilt that she might have influenced the cultural committee against us. Another part of her sadness could be envy that Soros hadn’t explored the option of getting a permission to be with her.
“Anyway, I just wanted you to know that I’m leaving.” She backed up a few steps.
“Oh, about me taking care of your plants,” Clara said. “Malliko is leaving in eight days and we’ve decided that as long as he’s on Earth we won’t let anyone stop us from being together. I’m getting on a plane to be with him as soon as I can.”
“Okay. But just make sure my plants are watered before you leave. Hopefully, this assignment won’t take more than a few days anyway.”
“Are you driving or flying to Canada?” Malliko asked.
