My hand played with her fingers as I watched her pull herself out of the dream world that she had been in.

“Sorry to wake you but no one answered the door, so I came through the window.”

Raising her head, Linea looked from me to the window and back. “Oh, for a moment I thought this was real.”

“Itisreal.”

“No.” She closed her eyes again. “You might be special, but I know you can’t fly.”

Her cute dismissal of this moment as a dream made me laugh. “I didn’t fly. I climbed up the wall. Told you I could, remember?”

This time Linea rubbed her face and sat up. “I’m sorry, but how did you get here?”

“I flew in a drone and then I climbed up the wall to your open window.”

Lowering her hands, she looked at me. “Are you crazy?”

Holding up my right hand I brought two fingers close together without touching. “I would say that I’m this much crazy and this much...” I used both arms to spread my hands as wide as I could. “…in love.”

The smile on Linea’s face released at least a thousand butterflies in my stomach.

“When I was done talking to my father, I went to find you, but you had already left. I assumed that you would stay and talk to me.”

“I wanted to, but your mother…” Linea brushed her hair back. “She said I needed to return and that it was urgent.”

“Was it?”

“No.”

Leaning forward, I flattened a strand of her hair that was pointing upward. “We need to talk about what happened between us last night.”

Linea nodded and moved in the bed, patting on the mattress with an invitation for me to sit next to her.

“I thought about what you said, and I spoke to my parents about your fear that I’ll be working too much. My mother says she has plenty of time with my father.”

“Did you tell your parents that we slept together?”

One side of my mouth lifted in a half smile. “No, of course not. That’s not something you tell your parents.”

Linea scratched her ear. “Ehm… maybe not, but I told my dad.”

My eyes widened. “You told Finn?”

“Yes. My mother wasn’t home, and I needed to talk to someone.”

“Fuck! Is he furious with me?”

Her face scrunched up. “Why would he be?”

“Because I slept with his unmarried daughter.”

“Well, actually, I admitted to him that I sort of forced myself on you.”

This time I was the one grimacing. “What are you talking about?”

“You said you wanted to wait for your wedding night, but I still pushed you inside me.”

I hurried to put the misunderstanding to rest. “Let’s be clear about something. I’m almost a head taller and much stronger than you. I could have stopped you at any point.”
