“Nothing.”

“Nothing?”

“Thor is a grown Nman. He knows where you live. He’ll call you and then you can talk things through.”

“What if he doesn’t? What if he just got caught up in the erotic energy of France?”

My dad chuckled. “Are you the same Linea who always tells me not to worry about things I can’t change?”

“I’m tired. It’s been a long journey and I just spent a week in a different time zone. I’m overwhelmed from absorbing so many different energies and I just want to go to bed and sleep for a month.”

“But you need to tell me about France.”

I yawned. “It was colorful, and I loved every minute of my time there.”

“It’s okay, baby. Take a nap and then we can talk later.”

Looking to the stairs, I sighed, “My room feels like it’s on the moon right now.”

“Come on. I’ll carry your luggage upstairs.”

The five flights of stairs felt ten times longer than normal. Once I made it up, I threw myself on my bed and yawned again.

My dad was right behind me and put my bag down next to my bed.

I heard my dad move around and when I felt a gentle breeze on my face, I knew he had opened my window just like I preferred. I should tell him how much I loved him, but my eyes were already shut and my breathing slow and heavy. I had experienced so much this past week and needed time to process everything, but first I deserved a long nap.

CHAPTER 20

Where Did She Go?

Thor

After my meeting with my father, I found my mother talking to Laura in the hallway. Both women were curious to know how our trip to Europe had gone and asked me a bunch of questions. I was eager to find Linea and spoke fast to give them some answers before I excused myself.

I checked the garden, the library, the entertainment room, and the star lounge, but couldn’t find her anywhere.

That’s when I discovered that the diamond drone was gone.

Confused, I found my mother again. This time she had a book in her hands and was about to sit down in her favorite nook to read. “Mom, where did Linea go?”

“She went home. Finn called this morning and asked that she hurry back.”

“She’s gone?”

“Yes.” Angling her head, my mother asked. “Why does that upset you?”

Just then my dad came walking.

“Dad can tell you. I need my drone. Is it back?”

“Back from where?” My mother looked from me to my dad silently askingDo you know what he’s talking about?

“I sent my drone to the shop for a check-up while we were gone. Is it back yet?” While talking, I was checking my wristband for messages. “Fuck, it’s delayed. Dad, I need one of your drones.”

“The diamond drone should be back once it has dropped Linea off,” my mother pointed out.

“When is that?”
