“It’s probably a good idea if we take some photos anyway. It wouldn’t harm to have some background story to our love affair.”
“You’re right.” Stopping, I got out my cell phone from my small purse and moved closer to him. “I want the castle in the background.”
Maximum pulled me in front of him, wrapping his arms around my waist and placing his head on my shoulder. “Lean back against me,” he whispered in my ear. Holding up the camera, I could see the screen with us smiling. I kept shooting pictures as Maximum closed his eyes and kissed my cheek.
“Do you approve?” I asked and let him scroll through the photos.
“Mhmm.” He nodded and I saw him send one of the pictures to himself. “We make a cute couple.”
“As long as Pierre buys it, that’s all that matters.”
“He’ll buy it.” Maximum squared his shoulders and looked away and right there, my instincts tingled with a small voice telling me that I might just have teamed up with a dangerous panther to help me scare off a harmless spider.
