Noah’s head dipped lower and I knew without a doubt that he was going to kiss me. Taking a step back, I felt the wall of the hotel behind me.

Noah moved with me and I could feel his warm breath on my skin. My lips were parted and my hands were fisted as my chest rose and fell.

“Don’t be scared,” he whispered.

“I’m not.”

“Good. Then you won’t mind if I kiss you now.”

My eyebrows drew close and I closed my eyes trying to calm my nerves. This was going way too fast for me and it just confirmed my instinct that Noah was too sexual for someone like me.

I jerked a little when his mouth made contact—first with my right cheek and then with my left. With my eyes still closed, I sensed him pulling back and felt relief. Being pressed against a wall and kissed was arousing in my fantasies, but in real life, I had a thousand alarm bells making me tense up.

Opening my eyes, I met his concerned gaze.

“You weren’t joking, you really do have issues with closeness.”

Shifting my balance from one foot to the other, I cleared my throat. “I don’t know you that well, yet.”

“No.” He brushed back a lock of my hair. “But today was a good start.”

Backing up two steps, Noah watched me. “Thank you for tonight. When can I see you again?”

“Tomorrow.” My answer came fast. “If you want to.”

The slow grin that split his face made me smile too and we stood like two goofballs grinning at each other when he said, “I’d love to.”
