We dropped off Faith and Logan at his apartment and when I got out to hug them goodbye, Faith squeezed me tight and whispered in my ear. “Did you sleep with Adam?”

“No,” I said too quickly but from the way she leaned back and studied my face, I could tell she didn’t believe me.

“Are you in love with him?”

“Shhh, he’ll hear you,” I shushed her before I shook my head. “Of course I’m not in love with him. Don’t be ridiculous.”

“Then why am I sensing some strange vibes between you two? You can tell me if something happened, you know.”

“I know, and I would… if I was in love with him. But I’m not. Adam and I don’t even like each other very much.”

Faith was about to say something but Logan came close and the conversation between us was interrupted.

“Do you want to go and look at new apartments with me tomorrow?” I asked Faith.

Her eyes went to Logan and then slowly back to me. “To be honest, Logan and I would love some alone time. Is that all right?”

“Sure,” I said, feeling a pinch in my heart from seeing the way the two of them were smiling at each other with such love and devotion. “I get it; being in love is magical. Of course you should take time to enjoy it.”

Logan pulled Faith closer and smiled at me. “Thanks.”

“We’ll just pick you up on New Year’s Eve. I’m looking forward to meeting your brothers, Logan. What were their names again? Andrew and…?”

“Derek. My younger brother’s name is Derek.”

“Okay, got it,” I said and got back in the car wishing I could be as happy as my sister.
