“It’s just that we’re moving.”
“To Scotland?” I gasped.
“No, to Kirkland.”
My shoulders sank down again. “Oh, thank God, I thought you were moving abroad for a second.”
“We like Kirkland and we want to buy a house by the water; it’s the perfect combination of close to the city but with nature all around.”
Adam’s eyes widened and he slowly turned to look at me. “Maybe that’s something to look at.”
“So you’re not going to live in LA, then?” Logan asked.
“No.”
“But I thought that’s where you needed to be because of your work,” Logan commented.
“I don’t need to live there all year round, and Adam wants to stay in the Pacific Northwest for now.”
Adam nuzzled my back and nodded in agreement.
“But didn’t Jane insist that you live in LA?”
“Yeah.” I shrugged. “But she has accepted that I have different priorities now.”
“I like that you’re finally setting your boundaries with that vampire,” Faith said.
“Thank you. Oh, I almost forgot to tell you guys something crazy,” I said. “You won’t believe who I saw on the film set a few weeks back.”
“Who?” Faith asked.
“Darren.”
“Darren? For real?”
“I know, at first I was confused and thought he was there to see me, but he wasn’t. And he looked different.”
“Different how?”
“Well, first of all, he was dressed in something close to regular clothes – I mean a bit colorful, but nothing outrageous – and I think he lost a lot of weight.”
“What happened?” Faith asked.
I threw my hands up. “I think Liam happened. Apparently they’ve been talking and Liam invited him to visit him. That’s why he was on the set.”
“Who is Liam again?” Logan asked.
“The celebrity that Chloe fake-dated, remember?” Faith reminded him. “He’s the one playing King Solomon.”
“Och, but how does Darren know Liam?” Logan questioned.
“Because I called Liam from Darren’s gallery that night after the fundraiser and Darren and Liam talked.”
“Wow,” Logan said. “Good for Darren; he made another celebrity friend.”
“Yeah, he must have not eaten for weeks to look that good, but when I complimented him he insisted it was the hula hoop.”
“Of course he did,” Faith grinned. “But you don’t think Liam and Darren are more than friends, do you?”
