CHAPTER 22

Partner Swap

Chloe

My head was still reeling from Adam’s confession. He had known the whole time that I was Chloe.

“And the star has arrived,” Darren exclaimed from the backend of the room. “And welcome to you too, Faith.”

I smiled at the group. Faith, Logan, Christian, Melody, Jake, Violet, and Darren were all looking at us.

“We just got here too,” Christian said, breaking the awkward silence, and quickly looked away.

“Ohh…” Darren took off his cowboy hat and threw it on a table. “Christian is just flustered because we all saw Adam’s car bumping up and down from all the humping you two did.” He sighed theatrically. “But as I was just telling the others, I think it’s damn refreshing to see straight people embrace a bit of healthy partner swapping. And might I add that…” He wiggled his brows. “The fact that it’s twins swapping lovers makes it extra hot, if you ask me.”

Faith gave me an I-give-up shrug. “I tried to tell him that I was just wearing your clothes, but Darren doesn’t want to hear me.”

“Of course not. That would just ruin the hotness of this kinky spin on events. Besides, I’m strongly hoping your little swinger club could be extended to include the rest of us.”

“I’ll pass,” Jake said quickly.

“Me too,” Melody added and Violet chipped in: “Yeah, I’m not a swinger either.”

Darren placed his hands on his hips. “Stop it, people, you’re ruining what has the potential to be the best night ever.” He turned and pointed at Christian and Logan, who stood next to each other. “Honestly, I’m not too keen on the sisters, but if you two and Adam are part of the package I’ll be a sport about it.”

Violet stepped in and gave Darren a sideways hug. “I’m sorry to burst your bubble, but Chloe and Faith really didn’t swap men, only clothing.”

Darren’s face fell. “Aww, that’s just wrong on so many levels,” he whined.

“Aye, I agree,” Logan said. “I didnae know what to do when Faith, who I thought was Chloe, placed her hand on my crotch on the way over here.”

“You didn’t tell Logan we had swapped clothes?” I asked Faith.

“I couldn’t with your security breathing down my neck, so I just told Logan that Faith had hurried off to talk to Adam about something and that she would meet him here at the gallery.”

I looked out the large windows, seeing a black car with my security waiting outside.

“I call bullshit,” I said to Faith. “You could have easily told Logan, you just didn’t want to.”

Faith broke into a mischievous grin. “Okay, I admit that I was curious to see how Logan would react if he thought you were coming on to him, but he passed with flying colors because he moved back with a look of pure terror on his face.”

“Wow, thanks a lot Logan,” I chuckled with mock offense.

“I didnae mean to offend ye, Chloe,” Logan said quickly.

“No offense taken, I’m sure Adam would have done the same if he thought Faith was coming on to him,” I said and looked up at Adam. “Right?”

Adam laughed and pinched my butt. “Not a chance; have you seen Faith? She’s smoking hot.”

“Hey,” I batted his shoulder playfully. “I know she’s hot, but she’s notme.”

“So what? You’re identical, who cares?”

When Logan cleared his throat and paled a bit, Adam quickly held up both hands as white flags. “Don’t worry, man, I’m just joking. I would have totally booted Faith out of the car if she had hit on me.”

“You wouldn’t.” Faith smacked her tongue at Adam and turned her head to look up at Logan with clear devotion.

That seemed to calm Logan, and when Darren brought out some bottles of wine the subject moved on to other things.
