Chapter 9
Archer~
Iwas in love with this woman, and I wasn’t letting her go. I didn’t care if she fought me on it. I didn’t care if she threw our original agreement in my face. And I sure as fuck didn’t care that Sia Meadows has turned me into all those women who pretended to know the score then got emotionally attached. And I didn’t care that I probably owed those women an apology now.
Kissing my way down her back, I wasn’t anywhere near being done with her. While Sia was hugging the pillow below her and probably needed a longer break, I just couldn’t stop touching her. Her skin was just so soft and tasted like Heaven on my lips.
After we’d come upstairs, we had headed straight for the bedroom where I had taken her again. But knowing we still needed to eat dinner and all that, I had left her in the bed while I’d gone back downstairs and made sure everything had been locked up to my satisfaction. I had been so desperate to get Sia upstairs, I wouldn’t have been surprised if I had missed something. I also had to get her overnight bag from the lobby. Normally, tonight would be a night spent at her house, but since damn near the entire world was closed tomorrow, it was not a thing to spend the night at my place.
Her bag retrieved, dinner made and eaten, and showers (dirty and clean) taken, I’d had her back in the bedroom by nine. From there, it’s been a mixture of sex and sleep.
“Mmmm,” she moaned softly. “That feels good.”
I reached the hills of her ass, and bit down softly. “I can’t get enough of you, baby.”
“Well, you better make the most of tonight then,” she replied, and I knew I couldn’t put it off much longer. It was past midnight, technically Christmas Day, and I knew I had to say something.
“It’s past midnight,” I told her. “It’s Christmas Day.”
I felt her body freeze beneath me. But a couple of seconds later, she quickly turned around and reached over to pull the sheet up to her neck. “Oh, shit,” she mumbled.
I untangled myself from the bedding and sat up, my legs over the edge of the bed. “Sia-”
She wouldn’t look at me. Her eyes were darting around the room. “I should probably get going. I need t-”
I immediately crawled back over her body to hold her prisoner in my bed. “Sia, I need you to listen to me, okay?”
“Archer, you don’t have-”
“Just listen, okay?” I repeated.
“Okay,” she whispered.
“I know I agreed that this would be sex only,” I began. I had my body braced on my elbows as I stared down at this beautiful woman who I was hoping to make mine. “I heard you lay out your terms, loud and clear. But, Sia, this can’t be it.” I shook my head. “You cannot tell me that you’re okay with walking out of my front door and never seeing me again.” My gaze held hers. “I refuse to believe it.”
“This was supposed to just be a fling,” she reminded me, and it felt like my heart cracked a little right down the middle.
“I don’t care what this was supposed to be,” I replied harshly. “Are you telling me you’re fine with this being the end? That you’re okay with walking out the door and never seeing me again.”
“Archer, I-”
“Answer the question, Sia.”
She didn’t say anything for a long moment, and I wondered if I’d gotten this all wrong. I thought we’d made some progress these past few days. I thought Sunday had been a turning point when we’d spent all day, getting to know each other. We hadn’t had sex, and even though it had been because she’d finally let me inside that virgin ass of hers, and she’d been too sore for any kind of sexual activity, it had still been a perfect day.
Her grey eyes fell to my lips, and I had no idea if it was because she wanted me to kiss her or because she didn’t want to look me in the eye as she broke my heart.
When her eyes met mine, she asked, “For how much longer?”
“For-fucking-ever,” I growled before slamming my lips on hers. Sia’s arms came around me, and she kissed me back with the save fervor that I’d attacked her with.
I couldn’t say how long we kissed for, but I finally broke off the kiss and started attacking her neck next. This wasn’t like all the other times. I hadn’t marked her because of her job, but right now, I didn’t care about that. However, I made sure to mark towards the back of her neck, so she could cover it.
“Archer,” she cried out when my teeth bit down.
After marking her, I demanded an answer. “Tell me, Sia.”
“Tell you what?” she panted. “I don’t…oh, God…”
