Deciding to just call it a night, I turned around and headed back towards my office. I was halfway there when I heard the elevator ding. I whirled around and watched in stupefied fashion as Aiden Buchanan walked through the opening doors.

His head swung around as he took in the empty floor. When his face returned to mine, his eyes narrowed, and chills broke out throughout my body. The hairs on the back of my neck stood up, and I knew.I. Just. Fucking. Knew.

I spun around and ran to my office as fast as I could. As soon as I made it past the threshold, I turned to shut and lock the door, but Aiden was already taking up the entire doorframe, slamming his hand against the door, forcing it open.

I backed up until my ass hit my desk. I put my hands up, trying to ward him off. This was insane. How can I feel what he’s feeling? He shut the door behind him, and I almost had a heart attack when I heard the lock engage. “Wh…what are y…you doing here, Aiden?”

His steps were certain and predatory. When he stopped, he was close enough that I could smell his cologne and feel his body heat. “I’m here to find out why you’ve been avoiding me all week.”

I blinked. There’s no way he could possibly know that I’ve been actively avoiding him. “I don’t understand. Wh…what do you mean?”

His brows drew down. “You know damn well what I mean, Denise.”

Oh, to hell with it. I just ran into my office to hide from this man. It seemed kind of silly to pretend we hadn’t crossed the lines of dignity and common sense. “Aiden, that kiss…”

One hand reached up and circled one of my dark ringlets around its finger, while he planted his other hand on my hip just as bold as you please. “Yeah, that kiss,” he smirked, “was the best fucking kiss of my life. And, believe me, I’ve kissed a lot of women.”

I crossed my arms over my chest and scowled at the jerk. “Are you seriously standing here telling me about all the women you’ve kissed before me?” The nerve of this guy!

“No,” he smirked, again. “I’m telling you that that was the best kiss of my life and explaining how I know what I’m talking about.”

I rolled my eyes. “Whatever,” I dismissed, carelessly. “You need to leave, and you need to leave me aloneunlessyou need to discuss something business related with me.”

Aiden threw his head back in a laugh. When he looked back down at me, his green eyes sparkled, and he looked like a certified rake. “That’s not happening, baby.”

My eyes widened. “Are you so used to getting what you want that you don’t care how…thislooksfor me? I do not need people thinking I’m screwing the boss for advancement or privileges!”

His hands moved to plant on either side of me flat against the desk. He was looming over me, trying to use his height and size to intimidate me.

But all it was doing was making me wet and tingly.

“I don’t give a fuck what people think, Denise,” he growled. “You were in this position way before I even started in my official capacity. Why would they think being with me was your way to move up?”

“It’s not just that, Aiden,” I sigh, doing my best to stay strong, but…Jesus Christ, there was only so much a woman could take. “Even if you weren’t my boss, I’m four years older than you. We have nothing in common and…” I couldn’t continue. Aiden’s head dipped until his nose was skimming the line of my jaw and I had to curl my hands into the fabric of my skirt.

“Just like I don’t give a fuck about what people think, I don’t give a fuck about the age difference or whatever else bullshit you’re going to throw at me,” he whispers against my skin.

“Aiden…” I tried to protest, but his name just came out sounding like the moan it was. His lips made contact with the skin of my neck and my knees buckled.

They. Actually. Buckled.

The hand on my hip moved as Aiden wrapped his arms around me to hold me up. I couldn’t imagine how smug he must feel in this moment. My lips were denying all kinds of things, but my body was obviously in major disagreement with my mind.

His lips kept peppering my skin with kisses, and all my common sense fled when the hand attached to the arm that wasn’t holding me up came up and ran down my neck to my chest and further down until he was holding and kneading one of my breasts.

This was too much, and it was all happening too damn fast.

All my arguments were still valid, but I couldn’t seem to continue to voice them as Aiden’s kisses turned into bites. The second I felt him pull my skin through his teeth, my mind started screaming Stop!Stop! My mind understood that he was blatantly marking me, but my body was screaming Yes!Yes!

My body was a slut.

This was so, so wrong.

Sooooooo wrong.

I gave up one last feeble attempted to end this madness. “Aiden…we…we can’t…”

His lip left my neck and my skin throbbed letting me know the mark was going to require a scarf because makeup wouldn’t cut it. And the thought turned me on more.
