She laughed and he brought her back to his bed where he pulled her into his body tight.

“Don’t leave my bed gem.”

She smiled and shut her eyes, letting sleep claim her.

When she woke the next morning, she was alone in the bed, but smelled something delicious coming from the kitchen.

She put one of Cruiz’s shirts on and walked out to find him. She was shocked to see Fin standing in the kitchen and she bit her lip when he turned his glare on her.

Cruiz hit Fin in the shoulder, “Don’t. She doesn’t need you to treat her like that. Why are you even here? I thought you were throwing a fit.”

Fin sighed, “I had to come back. To do my job. You know I also work here.”

Cruiz sighed, “Well, it is appreciated. I was going to take the speed boat out to see if I could find the dolphin pod.”

Fin nodded, “Fine. Be careful.”

Cruiz held out his hand to her, which she took. Fin rolled his eyes and Cruiz took a step toward him, “I don’t get why you are being like this. Explain it to me so that it makes sense.”

Fin put his head down, “I just can’t handle the unknown. I don’t understand how you can. You think that it’s alright to be with this girl we have never seen before and know nothing about. Well, I’m not like you Cruiz. I don’t want a girl like that. One that doesn’t tell me who she really is.”

Cruiz looked down at her and she gave him a small smile, “You know what Fin? I don’t need to know her past, all I need to know is that she is my future and you need to accept that.”

He leaned down and kissed her, “See you later Fin.”

He pulled her into his room and helped her to dress in some shorts and a shirt.

Then they drove to the docks and Cruiz helped her climb into a boat.

She sat down while he went to the wheel and pushed some buttons and the boat roared to life.

She grabbed the seat hard in fear. Cruiz looked over at her and took one of her hands, and kissed the back of it.

“Are you alright?”

She nodded and he drove away from the docks and to the open water.

She shut her eyes as the wind washed over her, the spray hit her face and she felt at home, because it was home.

She opened her eyes to look out over the endless blue water and just watched the sea slide by.

She longed to jump into the water and swim again, and had to fight with herself to stay put.

She would be back soon if she could figure out her future. Cruiz seemed so certain, and she knew she needed to take the leap of faith and sing to him.

When they stopped the boat, Cruiz set the anchor and he held something up to his eyes.

“This was where the pod of dolphins was seen last. I hope that they are alright.”

She looked over the edge and saw some fish swimming by the boat and she smiled, then she sang softly to them asking if they had seen the pod.

She saw Cruiz go stiff and she stopped singing when he turned wide eyes on her.

“You have a beautiful voice gem. What song are you singing?”

She bit her lip, “I was asking the fish if they had seen the dolphins.”
