Chapter Seven
Rickie
When Steele dropped her off to work the next day, she waved as he drove off and she walked in the office and got to work.
She was able to get most of the paperwork digitized by the end of the day and felt good about her system she had figured out.
Raiden dropped by for lunch, with Kadence at his side and he took them both out to a diner across town.
It was so nice and by the end of it, she wished they had called Steele to join them, but it was great to be with Raiden and Kadence.
She was even more thrilled for them now that she had found Steele.
Kadence had squealed in excitement when she found out that they were together.
Rickie had laughed and Raiden pulled Kadence into his side, kissing her.
Raiden drove them back to the office after taking Kadence back to her store, and Rickie loved seeing her brother in love. It was a different side of him that made him all the more wonderful.
She finished up the paperwork for the day when Steele knocked at the door to the office.
She looked up and smiled, “Hey! Did I lose track of time?”
He shook his head, “Not at all. Just wanted to see where my girl worked now. Making sure Raiden is treating you well here.”
She laughed, “He sure is.”
Raiden came around the corner, “I resent that remark.”
His voice had a laughing note and Steele smiled, “Just making sure you were taking care of my Bombshell there.”
Raiden shook his head and Steele laughed. Rickie stood, and hurried to Steele’s side.
He leaned down and kissed her, and she wrapped her arms around his neck to kiss him back.
Raiden cleared his throat, and she pulled away from Steele with a chuckle.
“Hey you and Kadence are the PDA king and queen.”
Raiden shrugged, “I guess you are right. My Fairy and I aren’t sorry.”
Rickie rolled her eyes and snuggled into Steele’s arms tighter.
“I don’t mind it. But I am going to keep kissing Steele.”
Raiden laughed, “Deal. Steele, I wanted to show you something we have been working on.”
Steele nodded and leaned down to kiss her again.
She went back to her desk and worked a little longer until she heard a noise at the door and thought it was Steele and Raiden.
But she looked up into the eyes of a strange man, that most certainly wasn’t Steele, or Raiden.
It took her a minute, but she recognized the man as the one from the restaurant. He was disheveled and looked a little dirty. It was really odd.
“Can I help you?” She said as she leaned back in her chair wanting to keep her eyes on him.
He sneered down at her, “You got me fired, you bitch.”
