He brought her hand to his mouth, and kissed it, “Iknowyou're beautiful. From the minute I read your letter I knew you were different.”

“You did?”

He gave a small laugh, “It’s why I’m here. I've been trying to find you since you sent me that letter. I looked for you everywhere and you slipped under my notice. I hate that more than you realize.”

She bit her lip and he stepped forward, making her head tilt further back in order to see him.

Her head dropped and he cupped her face gently, “I truly am so sorry for not seeing you sooner. For working too hard and not taking the time to see what was right in front of my eyes. I hope that you can forgive me.”

She searched his eyes, “Steele, you had a lot on your mind and were doing your job at the bank. I don’t blame you. Most people look over me. I’m used to it by now.”

He bared his teeth, “I shouldn’t have. I notice everything going on around me normally, and yet I didn’t see the woman who was meant to change my life.”

She gave a small smile, “I was not expecting a conversation like this. I had no idea you would be this way.”

He gave a shrug, “I didn’t either. You bring it out in me. Normally, I’m quiet, do what needs to be done and then I’m out. But you twist me up inside. Make me see light, and colors and make me realize that there is more out there.”

She shook her head, “This is so strange. I feel like I’m dreaming.”

He leaned down, and took her mouth in a brief kiss. “Does that feel like a dream to you?”

She stared up at him in complete shock. “You just kissed me.”

He nodded, “I did. And I'm not sorry.”

She blinked and shook her head; hard.

“This is the weirdest day of my life.”

He threw his head back and laughed, “It’s just the beginning. Can I take you on a date?”

She bit her lip and nodded, “Yes.”

He grinned, “I'll pick you up after I get done with work. Is six okay?”

She nodded again and he kissed her lush mouth one last time.

Then he turned and walked away. He had found her. His future. His everything.
