Steele let out a regretful sigh, “It was. You seem to draw attention of the wrong sort Bombshell.”

She grinned up at him, “But that makes life so much more interesting.”

He shook his head and then gave a nod to Raiden and his guys.

He helped her into his truck and drove them to his house.

“My heart can’t handle you being in danger like that Bombshell.”

She looked over at him and touched his face, “I am sorry love. Really.”

He kissed her hand, “I know this wasn’t your fault, but knowing he had a knife and could have hurt you brings out something in me that calls for more of his blood.”

She scooted over as far as she could go, lifting his arm and putting it around her, “You would never let anything happen to me. Not ever. I knew that and I wasn’t worried. Not in the least. You were nearby and so was Raiden. That guy picked the wrong place to confront me, that was for certain.”

He looked up at the ceiling of his truck, “Never again. I will always protect you.”

She smiled, “I know. It’s why I wasn’t scared today. You weren’t far and you would never let anything happen to me.”

“Never.”
