He hung his head, and she could have sworn his whispered, “Fuck, fuck, fuck!”
Then he looked up, “I didn’t want to do this, not like this. Not this soon, but I am needed back at my old job. There have been some issues there and they need me.”
She raised her eyebrow, “Go on,”
He nodded, “Don’t run. Okay? Not yet. Just let me explain it all and then we can figure it out.”
She pursed her lips and he went on, “This is going to sound crazy, I know that. Believe me I know that. But this is important that you trust me. Okay?”
She raised her eyebrow and gave him a tight nod, “I will try.”
He nodded, and said, “I am from the North Pole. I am an elf and I work for Santa Claus. I’m his right hand man and the head of his security.”
He then stood, and waited.
She rolled her eyes at him, “Wow. That’s hilarious Jensynn. You aren’t funny. What is your problem? An elf? That’s your explanation? Did you want me to leave? Is that it? Is that your kink or something? Act like you are a virgin, and then make it seem like I’m the only girl in your life, and then you do make up a crazy story so I get angry and leave? Did your brother even call? Well, congratulations. You got me. Jerk.”
She went to turn and he yelled, “Wait! That isn’t it. I swear it. I would never do that. You are the first and only woman I have ever been with, it wasn’t a lie. You know it wasn’t a lie Brenya. I would never play you like that. Brander did call, I have it right here on my phone, and I really am an elf and I do work for Santa Claus.”
“Stop it! Why are you acting like this? Seriously? What is your problem?”
He walked to her side, “I don’t have a problem. I wanted to tell you not this way. But, I can prove that I really am an elf.”
She waited and he grabbed her hand and ran it gently along the edge of his ear. But what looked like a regular ear to her was then gone the minute she touched it.
His ear was pointed at the tip and she pulled her hand back, shocked.
He nodded, “Yes, see? I’m an elf. I swear it.”
She pursed her lips again, her mind racing. “Okay, so you have weird ears. I have seen people that get enhancements, that isn’t new.”
He sighed and then with a blink, he went from wearing only jeans, to fully dressed, with boots on and his messy hair fixed in the regular style.
He blinked again and she looked down, she was also now dressed.
Taking a step back, she put her hand out when he tried to step forward. “This is too much. Santa Claus isn’t real. Everyone knows that. This is crazy. I’m still dreaming.”
She pinched her forearm, hard. Letting out a cry of pain she looked up at him, and shook her head when she saw the truth there in his eyes.
“I know you are scared my Queen, but everything I told you is true. I am an elf, I have magic powers and I work in the Pole for my best friend, Nick. I’m his head elf. I have been for a long time, and will be until he retires. He sent me here to find you. My mate.”
She took another step back, and he went on, “See, an elf has one mate. One woman made to be his and only his. It’s why I haven’t been with another. My cock couldn’t get hard for any one other than you. I always thought I would find my mate in the elves at the Pole, but she wasn’t there. And then Nick sent me here. Told me where to find you, and I did find you. You know I’m not lying. I can’t lie to you.”
She shook her head and he went on, again. “I started our bond last night when I came inside you and we can only seal it in the Pole, where my magic is the strongest. It’s where you and I will live, and I swear to you, our life will be amazing. But, you have the choice. You can choose me, or you can leave. I will never have another, but you can. Since you are human, you can choose to reject me, and our mating and be free. Humans don’t have the same way of life that elves do.”
She felt sick to her stomach at the thought and she could tell just saying it hurt Jensynn.
“I don’t want to push you, and you know I have two days before I have to leave, but I had to tell you. To show you what I truly am. I love you Brenya. I have from the second our eyes met, and will until the day I die. Even if you choose to reject me, I will still love you. Give us a chance, please.”
She was speechless and overwhelmed by everything he was saying, “I need a minute. This is too much. I can’t. I just can’t right now.”
He nodded, “I understand.”
She could feel his pain, and heartbreak and she hated it.
She knew he wasn’t lying and didn’t know how she knew that. She always knew it, but the minute he told her about living in the Pole, she knew he was telling the truth.
It sounded so insane though that she needed a minute. She had to process this and she had to get to work.
