Karalee was so excited that they would be getting married close to each other and after she had changed from her dress had insisted that Mila choose hers.
Mila had blanched, not wanting to take away from Karalee’s day and Karalee had grabbed her hands and looked in her eyes.
“You are one of my best friends Mila. You gave me a chance when I first moved here, and your happiness and day is just adding to mine. I want to see you when you find your perfect dress. Please?”
Mila had bit her lip and the other girls had chimed in, “Oh yes, please!”
Mila had looked at the owner of the shop, Tessa, and she had grinned. “We still have quite a bit of time with Karalee’s appointment. She found her dress so quickly. And besides, I don’t have another appointment after. I haven’t had many other weddings. Aside from your group.”
Mila quickly called her mom and was thankful that Malena had time to run over, then she called Kenzie.
Kenzie hadn’t gone in for her shift at the hospital yet and her face lit up when Mila told her to come to the shop.
“Be there in five minutes.”
She gave them a smile and Mila chuckled, “Okay. Can we call Kaylee? She needs to see this too.”
Emery pulled her phone from her purse, “Of course!”
She called Heather on Facetime and Heather answered, “Oh, Kaylee is at the shelter. Can you wait ten minutes while I run over there? I am sure she can take a little break. They are always so sweet to her.”
Mila nodded and Emery laughed and talked with Heather while she and Tessa went around the shop and picked out a few dresses that Tessa believed would work with her body type and had a feeling she would love.
Mila hadn’t thought of her perfect dress and was happy to go along with Tessa’s suggestions.
Mila had just walked to the dressing room when Kaylee’s excited voice came over the phone.
“Mila? Are you going to try on some dresses?”
Mila hurried to Emery’s side. She smiled at Kaylee, “I sure am. I need my maid of honor’s opinion. Is that okay?”
Kaylee grinned, “Yes!”
Mila blew her a kiss, and then went to the room where Tessa helped her into the first dress.
It was beautiful, but it didn’t make her tear up and immediately love it.
Tessa noticed this, and shook her head, “Not this one.”
Mila agreed and then they put the second one on her.
It was off the shoulder, with long lace sleeves and the lace was embroidered on the top of the gown and went through the waist until it slowly faded and left just the light gauzy material below her waist.
The top was tight to her body and when it got to her waist flowed out in a slight ball gown shape.
The lace accents picked back up at the bottom and the small train had the same accents.
It fit her like a glove and with the light dusty rose color of the dress it made her skin glow and her dark hair stood out against it perfectly.
She looked in the mirror and let out a gasp.
It was so perfect for her and she knew with certainty it was her dress.
Her mom and sister had come in before she had changed and when Tessa opened the door, they were all sitting around on the couches and chairs that had been arranged around several mirrors.
She walked out and saw her Nana was there and she smiled as they all gave different noises of awe and shock.
She walked to the mirror and stood on the small circular raised step and turned to look at them.
