Chapter 15
Mila
Mila hated going to work after their engagement.
But she had obligations and wouldn’t back out of them for this. Plus, she was excited to go dress shopping with Karalee when she got done with her shift.
Then she would spend the rest of the evening in Reid’s arms. In their bed and making love.
Her body clenched just thinking of it. She couldn’t believe how he could make her blood heat and sing.
She had never felt this way about another person and was glad that he was it for her.
She admired her ring again and loved just how it suited her.
She let out a sigh and her Nana gave a laugh.
“That proposal last night was something else wasn’t it?”
Mila nodded, “It was. Oh Nana. He is so wonderful and perfect. I love him so much.”
Nana walked over to her and pulled her in for a hug. “I’m so happy for you. For both of you. I know you have always wanted to find the man who would love you the way that Grandpa loves me and the way your dad loves your mom. And you did. Reid is a good man, and I am so excited to have him as a grandson in law.”
Mila hugged her Nana again, “Thanks Nana. I can’t wait to marry him.”
She went through the rest of the day in a cloud. She was so happy and so in love.
She sent him a few texts to let him know she was thinking of him, and that she loved him, but he didn’t answer.
She wasn’t worried, knowing he was going to be at the doctors and at physical therapy all day.
She worked hard, keeping her mind on the diner and getting through the day.
When it came time to go to the dress shop, she was nervous and excited.
She couldn’t wait to see what dress Karalee would pick.
When she pulled into the shop, she was shocked to see Ailith in the parking lot.
She thought they were still in Scotland.
Her soon to be mother in law hurried over and pulled her in for a tight hug.
She kissed her cheek softly, “I am so happy ye are going to be marrying my Reid. He is such a good man and needed a woman to match that. And I think he did a fabulous job in finding ye.”
Mila’s grin overtook her face and she hugged Ailith tightly. “Thank you. For saying that. For raising such a good son. A good man. I cannot wait to be his wife.”
Ailith hugged her again, “Come, let’s have miss Karalee pick her dress. It will be ye soon enough.”
Mila laughed and followed behind her.
The dress Karalee picked out was something out of a fairytale.
It was so perfect for her it wasn’t even funny.
Mila was so happy for her and held that happiness in her heart.
She loved spending time with the girls, talking and laughing, planning Kian and Karalee’s wedding.
