She didn’t care that she was a twenty-year-old virgin. She would wait for the right man to come along and she didn’t regret it one bit.

She had a silent wish in her heart that her man would have also waited for her and it was something she hoped for.

She didn’t know how she would feel if he had given that part of himself to another.

After the town was shaken up by the strange break-ins and the murder and attempted murder of the Sheriff and his Deputy, life changed and when they had recovered and returned to work, she was grateful they were still alive and Brek had changed.

He had found his girl and Mila was so happy for him. Because she was able to finally get to know Sienna. After she got her voice back, Sienna was more willing to speak and get to know Mila.

She married Brek and it was so wonderful to be Sienna’s friend.

Mila had slowly come out of her shell as the years passed since she was in high school and was grateful that she'd finally made friends with the woman that had been so hurt by everyone around her.

When Mila had found out their tragic story, it was horrifying, and she wished she'd tried harder to be Sienna’s friend.

She couldn’t go back and change it, but she was glad they were friends now.

Sienna was equally as grateful that Mila wanted to be her friend now and they had become quite close.

And then she met Emery. The woman was a firecracker. She was not afraid to be herself and had Trace wrapped around her finger from the start.

It made Mila so happy that love was in the air and she wished that her man would come.

When the entire thing that happened with Emery and Trace and how Emery’s older brother almost died, it was insane.

She knew that it had shocked their town and that the small town had been shaken way too much in the last few months.

She could only hope it would go back to the normal feel and that everyone would stop looking at each other with distrust.

That wasn’t the way they were. And she wished that now that Kian was here, and when Reid was released from the hospital that things could calm down.

They had and it made her happy to know that the town was slowly healing from the horrific things Jake had done to scare them all.

They needed something positive to think of and the Deputy’s marriage was it.

Emery had asked if she would be one of her bridesmaids, it was so flattering, and Mila couldn’t wait.

She hadn’t had many friends until now and being asked to be involved in something like this was so sweet.

And then the cherry on top was that she finally met Reid.

His blue eyes met hers and they widened in shock and then something came over him, some unnamed emotion entered his eyes and she knew. Just knew that he was hers.

She walked towards him like there was a string attached to their bodies and was drawing them together.

She hadn’t known what to say, or what to do, and after just a few sentences had gone silent, overwhelmed with the knowledge that her dream man wasn’t a dream anymore. That he was a living, breathing person that was touching her skin and making her break out in goosebumps.

Walking down the aisle with him, she breathed in the scent of his cologne and went weak in the knees.

He was so potent it wasn’t even funny. And even with his arm in a sling and the red skin from his burns peeking from the neck of his shirt, it didn’t take away from his masculinity, and in fact she didn’t care about the burns or the sling.

He was all hers and that was what mattered. For better or worse, sickness or health. He kept his eyes on her the entire time Emery and Trace were saying their vows and she could feel her panties drench.

She wanted so badly to stare into his eyes and see how much she affected him, but if she did that, she knew that he would see her heart in her eyes.

It was too soon. And she didn’t want to scare him away with the strength of her feelings for him. That was the very last thing she wanted to do.
