“Be safe Mrs. Collins.” Kaylee said and Ailith blew her a kiss, “We sure will. Love ye Kaylee.”
“Love you too.”
“Reid, we have to go soon for yer appointment.”
He sighed, “Fine. Love you Kaybug. See you soon okay?”
“Okay Reid. Be safe. Love you too.”
Reid blew her a kiss as well and then waved to Heather.
He hung up and stood, slipping on his shoes that were already tied so he didn’t have to deal with that mess.
He put a baseball hat on his head and then walked out to where his ma was waiting.
What he didn’t expect was to see Mila sitting on the couch next to his dad.
He stopped short, “Mila, what are you doing here?”
She stood, and gave him a tiny smile, “Your ma asked if I could help out when they left and I needed to see where to go to take you to your physical therapy.”
He raised his eyebrow, “Oh. Okay.”
She bit her lip and he never in his life wanted to kiss a person like he did her right at that moment.
He coughed and then looked away.
His ma came up next to him, “Let’s go, shall we?”
He nodded and then followed behind Mila and his ma.
He watched the sway of Mila’s ass and had to do his best to keep the groan inside his mouth.
He was wearing light sweatpants that hid nothing from view, which meant that the erection he had gotten from looking at Mila’s ass was not hiding at all. He did stats in his head to make it go away, plus he remembered that his ma was right there with them and his erection died and he did his best to keep his eyes averted from Mila’s spectacular ass.
They got in the car and Reid let his ma talk to his future wife as he just watched them.
Ma told Mila all about his therapy, the things he had to do in the office and the things he needed to do at home.
How he needed to have his burns rubbed with the salve every night and every morning or his skin wouldn’t stay pliable and would hurt him more.
Mila had a tiny notebook and was writing everything down and was taking everything seriously.
He wanted to laugh that she was so worried, but actually just loved that she cared so much about him and his recovery.
When they got to the physical therapists, he had to take a few deep breaths to center himself.
He knew it was going to hurt and he wasn’t ready, but he needed this, or he would never recover.
Never get back to work with his brother and his brother in law.
So going into the building, he prepared for the pain and would embrace it.
He took off his shirt and his sling, and they began. They worked his shoulder to move the muscles and the joints.
He had to grit his teeth as they tried to get his burned shoulder to comply with their movements and more than once he wanted to scream it out with how badly it hurt, to move something that didn’t want to move, but he kept those screams trapped inside his body and worked even harder.
When he was done, he was dripping with sweat and exhausted beyond belief.
