She went still and then shrugged. “I don’t know. What have you done in the past with your friends?”

Trace shook his head, “I didn’t have friends growing up and when I first moved here, I was so closed off to Brek we didn’t really hang out outside of work. I have gone to his parents’ house a few times since then and sometimes we watch football, or baseball or basketball.”

She laughed, “Okay then. Do that. Keep each other company. You have a brother in law now, don’t be scared to be his friend.”

Trace laughed, “I won’t. But I am going to miss you when you are at this girl’s night. When it’s over are you going to come back to my bed?”

She blushed, “I will always.”

He smiled and they ate their lunch and when he paid for it, she shook her head, but he leaned down and kissed her softly, “I know you want to pay sunshine, but I will always take care of it. Okay?”

She shook her head softly but let him and when they walked back to the station she said, “I can pay for things sometimes Trace.”

He nodded, “I know you can, but I don’t want you to. Use your money for things you want to buy for yourself.”

She smiled, and they walked into the station and he had to go back out on patrol for a few hours.

When she left to get ready for their date, he reluctantly let her go.

And knew he would be there to get her soon.

He showered quickly, washing the stickiness away from his cock and it made him sad, and he hoped against hope it would be back on there by the end of the night.

When he drove to her house after dressing in light jeans and a white t-shirt, with a baseball hat on, he knocked on the door and when it opened, he came face to face with one of her brothers.

He was as tall as Trace was, but had light hair, like his sister. And he shared the sea blue eyes that Emery had.

“You must be Trace.”

Trace recognized the voice as Kian’s and he grinned and held out his hand, “Kian. Nice to meet you.”

They shook hands and Kian let him in the living room.

Grandma Viv was there, sitting on the couch with Reid.

Reid also had blonde hair, but his was darker, rather than the lighter blonde of Emery and Kian.

He also had dark brown eyes, and when he stood, he was a little taller than Trace. About the same size as Brek.

Trace held his hand out and Reid shook it, “Trace, good to meet you.” He said and Trace nodded, “Good to meet you as well Reid. Em has told me a lot about you both.”

Reid chuckled, “It isn’t all bad we hope. But if Emmy told you stuff about us, it probably isn’t good.”

Trace laughed, “I promise it wasn’t as bad as you think. I appreciate you keeping an eye on her until she could find me.”

Reid raised an eyebrow, “Oh, well. It’s like that is it?”

Trace nodded, “Absolutely. She is mine. And I know that without a doubt in my mind.”

Reid’s other eyebrow rose to join the first. “You have known her for less than a week. That isn’t real. No one just knows that they found the one.”

Trace raised his eyebrow in return, “You obviously haven’t met your ‘one’ yet. If you feel that way.”

Reid went silent, and then shook his head, “Fine. I concede to your point. Because no, I haven’t met my one. But how in the world are you so certain? I don’t understand it.”

Trace chuckled, “I didn’t either when my brother in law met his girl. I thought he was insane for being so taken with her in just moments. But he knew with one look. With one touch. As did she. And it was the same with Emery and I. I saw her, and when she fell into my arms, it was the end. I knew she was my girl. Knew it without a shadow of a doubt. And I haven’t looked back. It may be fast, but I love her.”

Kian and Reid’s mouths dropped open in shock and their Grandma laughed. “I like him. Oh. It’s going to be fun having him around.”
