“Kin, I’m gonna come if you want to—”

But she doubles down, locking her lips against me and sucking, using her hand to jerk me off the rest of the way. I touch her hair, then lean my head back, and the sound I make is damn near animalistic. I may as well be one with the way she’s milking me and swallowing it all down with a satisfied hum. I come so hard, I think I see spots.

“Goddamn.” I reach for Kinley, my eyes closed with exhaustion. Once I catch her hands, I pull her back onto the couch, where she sprawls over me, resting her head on my shoulder.

She giggles lightly, pressing a kiss to my knuckles. “This would be a lot more comfortable for me if we moved to the bed. You can stay the night if you want.”

A bolt of surprise flashes through me. I love how easygoing she is. There are no games, no guesswork, no awkwardwhat do we do nowmoments.

“Uh, yeah. Sure.”

Kinley pats me on the cheek before she gets up, turning off the forgotten movie and gathering her discarded clothes. I watch her butt wiggle as she walks away, and damn, is it cute.

I tug my jeans into place since I’m still sitting here with my dick out. Not my finest moment, but shit, I think she almost sucked the life out of me.

“I’m going to take a shower. Come and join me once you’ve reentered the land of the living.” She presses her lips to mine in a quick peck before her footsteps fade down the hallway to the bathroom.

When the pipes creak and the shower starts, I open my eyes. A goofy, satisfied smile stretches across my lips.

I’ve never stayed the night with a woman, on principle. I usually don’t want to give anyone false hope.

But with Kinley ... I know it’s not like that. And I have no intention of making the trek back to my place, even if it’s just a few short strides down the hall. Things are different with her.

For the first time in a while, I’m just going to do what feels right.

“Good morning,” I whisper against Kinley’s hairline, enjoying the way she grumbles in response.

“What time is it?” she asks, her eyes bleary. She looks absolutely heavenly, all sleep-rumpled and drowsy. Seeing the cup of hot tea in my hand, she smiles. “Mmm. Can I have some of that?”

“You can have it all. I have my own,” I say.

As I help her sit up, she blinks over at the morning light peeking through the drawn curtains and squints against the sun.

“Oh God, you’re a crazy early bird, aren’t you?” She gives me a look of disgust over the edge of the teacup, like she’s willing to end this summer fling on the basis of my sleeping habits.

“Easy.” I chuckle, shooting her a sly wink. “Wait until you hear about breakfast.”

“What about breakfast?” At first she’s skeptical, but then she sniffs the air and gasps. “Is that bacon?”

When I nod, Kinley sighs happily. I chuckle at her adorable enthusiasm.

I’m an early riser because of the years I’ve spent going to early morning practices. Meanwhile, Kinley sleeps like a rock. Once we snuggled into bed together last night after another make-out sesh in the shower, she knocked out.

Spooning her with my hand splayed across her belly, I was content to listen to her soft breathing until I fell asleep. I’m aware how weird that sounds, but it was more calming than any melatonin supplement I’ve ever tried.

At one point, I woke up, feeling the little guy kick against my hand. It was a strange reminder that it’s not just Kinley and me in this bed. She has a baby on the way. Even though I’m sure he’ll be a great kid, I have zero idea how I’ll fit into Kinley’s life once he’s here.

A sinking feeling settles inside me. I guess it’s a knot I’ll have to unravel later.

Now, at the table, her pregnant belly is on full display under her tiny pajama top. She runs her hand absentmindedly over the taut skin as she fills her plate with bacon, scrambled eggs, and sliced strawberries.

“You’re unreal, you know that?” Kinley looks at me from across the table with a radiant smile, her fresh face beautiful, even without makeup.

“Right back atcha, gorgeous.”

As we smile at each other like a couple of idiots, the moment is rudely interrupted by a rapid knocking at the door. Kinley glances at the clock and curses under her breath before looking at me apologetically.
