I approach her slowly, not wanting her to ask me to leave. I grab a spoon from her dishwasher and get my own spoonful, popping it in my mouth.

“What's going on?”

Olivia looks at me, her mouth still in a pout as she puts the spoon down on the counter.

“I’m pregnant.”

If I wasn’t bracing my hands on the counter, I would have fallen over.

“You’re...” I can’t say it. I can’t finish my sentence.

“I’m going to have a baby, Dom.”

All the breath leaves my lungs in a rush. “Oh, honey.”

“I don’t know whose it is.” Her words strike like an arrow through my heart.

Fuck. That night. That cursed night.

I did it because it was what she wanted, because I thought maybe it'd help her trust me. I haven’t even begun to confront the conflicting feelings I have about it.

Especiallysince Damien and Sebastian are still sniffing around her.

“But it might be mine.”

She nods, still crying.

Now isn’t the time to be jealous, even if my head wants to explode.

I breathe deeply to calm myself and then come around the counter, sweeping her up into my arms.

She jumps up to help me, and I catch her around her ass and thighs, carrying her to the bedroom.

“It’s late,” I tell her. “You need to rest.”

When I tuck her in under the covers she clutches at me. “I can't sleep. My head is too loud.”

“Then I’ll quiet it down. Everything’s okay, honey. I’m going to be there every step of the way. I’ll fight for you and the baby.”

“What if it's not yours?" Her voice trembles.

I kiss her softly and then pull away, looking her in the eyes. “It’ll still be yours, won’t it? And I want you, Liv. I always have. You and anything that you might bring with you, even a baby.”

“Until when? Until something new comes along? Someonenew?”

I grit my teeth, hating myself for ever making her feel like I’d leave her for something shiny and new.

“I made a mistake. A huge mistake. But I learned from it. And now I know there’s nothing I want more than you, Liv. There’s nothing and no one that could take me away from you.”

She lets out a sob, pressing her face against my chest as I hover over her.

“Do you mean that, Dom? Really mean it?”

“Yes," I breathe, shifting to get under the covers with her. “Yes, I mean it, Liv. With all my heart and soul.”

“Will you stay?”

“Forever,” I promise fiercely, taking off her clothes.
