Dominic’s throat works.
This is something he has to do, I can’t do it for him. He’s new to Titan, but he’s worked his way up the ranks. Edwards trusts him. He just has to play this right.
“In my professional opinion, I need another week.”
A week? We’re supposed to solve this in a week?
But Edwards needs a deadline, and I guess a week is as good as any.
Edwards nods. “Then you’ll get a week. No longer. Then you’ll make your presentation to the board, and we’ll vote.”
Dominic twitches again but just nods.
The rest of the board meeting goes by in a blur, boring stuff like minutes from the last meeting and how our accounting department has grown.
“I nearly blew it in there,” Dominic says after the meeting is finally over and we’re walking to the valet.
“You did great.” Well, not great, but he got it done.
He snorts. “I nearly pissed myself when Edwards asked me my opinion.”
“What is your opinion? Are things really so bad?”
“They’re bad.” He still has bags under his eyes. “I don’t know what will happen.”
“We just have to find the leak.”
We head back to Damien’s place, and I walk in the door and hear a familiar sound. Olivia’s moans.
I put a hand on Dominic’s chest to stop him, but he’s already striding into the bedroom, and I wince to see Olivia on top of Damien, covers on the floor, riding him for all she’s worth.
Damien doesn’t miss a stroke, to his credit, just grunting and thrusting into her.
Dominic’s jaw twitches.
“Look at you, honey,” he murmurs, but there’s a warning in his voice.
I should probably get him out of here before he rips Damien’s head off.
I push him out of the room, lightly closing the door as Olivia hasn’t even noticed.
Dominic paces around the kitchen. “I’m going to kill him.”
I push him out onto the balcony, sighing heavily. “You’ve got to get this whole jealousy thing under control.”
“Easy for you to say. You’re not in love with her.”
Well, that’s a complicated subject, so I ignore it.
“This is whatshewants. Don’t you want to give her what she wants?”
He groans and braces himself on the balcony railing, looking out over the parking lot.
“I want to give her the world. But why does that have to be another man?Men?”
“Because she’s got a lot of love to give. You can see how happy she is, Dom.”
“I just don’t know if I can do it. I don’t know if I can justhave a piece of her.” He looks devastated, like he’d like to throw himself over the railing.
