I pull out my phone, putting it on speaker, and I can tell that Olivia is asleep when she answers the phone in a mumble.

“Come over to my place, little girl. Time for some fun.”

“Fun?” She sounds cautiously hopeful.

“I’m here too, Liv. We want to make you feel better.”

“What about Damien?”

Dominic looks suddenly murderous, and I quickly grab the phone, putting it up to my ear.

“He’s busy. Working, you know.”

“Oh, okay.” I’m a little irritated with the tone of disappointment in her voice, but we’ll give her the ride of her life. “I’ll be there soon.”

“Don’t wear panties.”

“Wouldn’t dream of it.” Her giggle sounds as I hang up the phone.

“She’s coming?”

“Hopefully, more than once,” I joke, but Dominic seems as serious as a heart attack. “Are you gonna loosen up before she gets here, or what?”

He chugs the rest of his beer. “That’s what this is for.”

I raise an eyebrow.

He’s clearly in some kind of internal struggle with himself.

“Are you just having trouble sharing her?”

He slams the beer bottle down on the table. “Ofcourse,I’m having trouble sharing her.”

I open my mouth to say more, but then the doorbell is ringing again and I know Olivia is here.

Dominic heads for the door and opens it, smiling down at her and tossing his beer bottle in the trash.

Olivia looks beautiful with her bare face, wearing a pair of yoga shorts and a tank top.

“Dom, you look... tired. Are you sure you’re up for this?”

“I’m fine.” He sweeps her up into his arms, kissing her.

I look away, because when Olivia and Dominic kiss it’s like looking in on something intimate, something personal, but Olivia pulls away.

She stalks into the living room and plops down on the couch.

“We’re not doing anything until you spill what’s wrong.”

Dominic groans. “Nothing’s wrong, honey. Everything’s fine.”

“Everything’s clearlynotfine. You look like you didn’t sleep all night.”

“I didn’t. Just... work.”

“It doesn’t seem like work.”

I chuckle, watching the two of them bicker.
